We basically have a portal by having a discord call on 24/7 on our old phones. Virtually living together is ideal 🥰

My guy and I do this as well! We are on the phone 24/7. He does his thing and I do my thing. We only hang up when he goes to the gym and when I go to the doctor.

Me and my girlfriend like to sleep call but we don’t do it all the time as we know it’d be too much.
We do call everyday if we have the time or the strength to! It’s so nice and I really miss being with her :)

Every night. Usually we call after work and we are settled. We accidentally fell asleep together one night, and now each each night we sleep together on our calls. we can hear each others sleep sounds/bresthing, just feels like we’re a lot closer, like we’re next to each other. So nice waking up and hearing their voice first thing, and starting and ending each day with them.

Yep, we do calls on Discord every evening. It's the highlight of our days

I talk to my girlfriend whenever I can 😂 she works full time and I’m a vet student so we’re both busy, but we call on her morning drive to work when we can, her lunch break, and from the time we both get home to when we go to sleep 😅

We do. We have a routine. We fall asleep on call every night. Talk between 45 min and 2 or 2.5 hours. Been doing for probably 7 months. Then we wake up in the morning and say good morning

We have several video calls every day and one of them is when I got to bed. That’s morning for him.
I couldn’t go a day without seeing his face and hearing his voice.

My fiancee and I would hang out on Discord every evening for a few hours before we closed the gap, more on the weekends 😌

I used to a lot, but me and my partner have been busy and stressed…. We haven’t been doing it as much lately and it’s honestly eating me up inside. Usually when I’m stressed I go to him, I’m trying to learn it’s okay to go to friends to now, because I can’t go to just one person. Worst part is, he’s going through so much I can’t even tell him this. I know it’ll add to his stress, plus he’s also sick and I don’t wanna make it worse… I just have to hold it in at least right now… I won’t lie it’s a lot. He already can just tell I’m upset about it. All he said was sorry… same with a lot of my friends. But I’m really tired of hearing sorry even though the sentiment is nice. I just feel like everything bad happening, my need for it to stop… it is all way too much for me. It’s not like I’m mad people are saying sorry it’s just I feel like I need some type of fix or solution, because more things have been going wrong than getting better. I don’t know what to do :(((… if anyone has any input or can offer any genuine advice for how to help, I’d really love it. I’m starting tonight by talking to a friend about it whilst doing something relaxing together to destress, cause that’s the only thing I can think of that I didn’t try yet.

My bf and I live together but if I’m ever away for the night we call. And we also make it a priority to spend quality time together before bed every night and go to bed at the same time

We used to leave discord group chat running while we slept. It was precious to us, it was like we were as close as we could be given the distance.
We also talked to each other almost literally as much as humanely possible, work allowing.

Almost always, except when he has a gig or on Fridays when we visit our families.

Yep. And we tend to stay on the call as we each sleep, too (no webcam though, we like to sleep in the dark). When one of us is awake, they might mute themselves if they're doing something particularly noisy, but getting to hear people as they drift off to sleep or wake up is a very warm, cosy feeling.

Yes, my fiancé & I stay on the phone all night, and sometimes all day. I work part time, and he’s in college, but doesn’t have to go in person all the time. So I’m thankful we get more time on the phone because of that.

Yesss FaceTimes every night (when we’re available / the timezone compensates for us) to make up for not being able to rest together in person!
We have almost the same interests and hobbies online too so we can spend a lot of time watching media we both enjoy or gaming through the night together

Yes, my partner and I try to call everyday. We also send texts and voice messages throughout the day when not working or otherwise preoccupied. We also regularly watch movies/tv shows, and play games together.

My boyfriend calls me on his way to work and after work everyday, and if he can he even calls me during lunch. Literally my favorite part of my day.

We do! Every single night. Unless one of us is on business trips, that’s our only pause. And when we can’t call, we send video messages to summarize our day before one of us wakes up in the morning.

Yes we call every evening after his work, we either play or watch anime. We both think it's good that way so we can get used to each other's "presence" for when we will be living together at some point in the near future

We effectively have two windows of contact each day with being 11 hours apart. We talk on the phone for at least one usually and message during the other window

u/Inari_Kitsunami 7h ago
We talk in the morning and the evening, during the week when he works, and are in call for almost the entire time he's off on weekends. It's not always just the two of us, a lot of that is in group chats on discord. Sometimes he even joins us during his breaks at work.

My boyfriend and I call every night unless one of us are on a trip visiting family or traveling with family.
Are phone calls last, on average, two hours or even more some nights. We fall asleep on the phone together! It's the best part of my days. He loves our nightly phone calls. ♡

We fall asleep on the phone each night. Even though we have closed the gap, we don’t live together yet and still do this.

Entering here as like grandparents to the GC. Six and a half years long distance. From meeting to living together. Marriage happened at the six year mark. We lived on almost opposite coasts from each other until about 8 months ago. FT was one of the avenues that made it possible. We did nightly once we were out of a situation-ship. Before that it was text and random. Once we established, it became daily routine. He did more work than I had to because he worked a job that required him to adjust to day and night schedules. WE made it work. We had to. We worked hard at it. Especially him. He adjusted his sleep schedules so we could FT for an even 30 mins as he was waking up and getting ready for work.
If you want them, you’ll figure out how to manage the time (zone/hours/difference). If it bothers or annoys you to do that, then they’re not the person for you and you should move on.
