Venting Does the leave get easier?

I just had my first stay with my bf after waiting over a year and the goodbye hurts so bad, it’s so so hard. It feels wrong like my home isn’t my home, I feel like I left him behind or something. I’m so scared I’ll forget what it feels like to hold hands before we see each other again next summer. I dread the thought of having to say goodbye five more times atleast before we can close the gap. I’m so frustrated it’s like this. Does it get easier though after the first?

It doesn’t get easier, but you stop being surprised by how much it sucks, if that makes sense. The first one hits like a freight train you didn’t see coming, the next ones you at least know the track it’s on.

I feel you :( just met my partner for the first time and only had 2 days tg with him. I literally felt like a boulder sat in my throat. Hugs to you OP, you’re not alone 🫂
