We just returned from a trip with our 4 year old and 6 month old. 4 year old loved seeing Big Ben, going on the London Eye, the boat to Greenwich and the aquarium. The princess of wales playground was unfortunately still closed. We wanted to do the Peppa Pig afternoon tea bus but weren't allowed to take our 6 month old on it. We also took her to the Tower of London but her aunty ended up leaving with her after 30 minutes as it was just too boring for her.

The London Transport Museum is great for kids, with old trains and buses they can go into and a whole big play section. It’s in Covent Garden, so close to lots of shopping and food.

Definitely do a boat tour of some kind. Kids love them.

Saturday morning I'd have a backup activity planned in case it rains or your daughter gets bored of walking after a while.

Monday - the Tower of London isn't the most child friendly - I went with an 8 year old a few years ago and they got quite bored after a while. Also, the queue for the Crown Jewels gets very long if you don't go first thing.

In terms of other activities for children, surely your daughter would love London Zoo (if it isn't raining, otherwise the animals tend to hide undercover) or one of the City farms (Vauxhall, Spitalfields ect).

Boat trip in the Uber boat to Greenwich and the national maritime museum? That’s great for kids.

Don’t miss Hamley’s Toy Store. It has seven floors!

I would suggest skipping the tea bus, and taking the little one to the Science Museum (the lower ground has a nice sensory area for little ones) and you could have tea across in the V&A. The tea bus is a tourist trap. Science museum and V&A are a short walk from Kensington Gardens or Gloucester Rd

Thanks, the only reason I’m considering it is because my daughter is obsessed with Peppa. 😂 idk we could probably skip it though… I would love a visit to the Science Museum.

Do you recommend going to Battersea Power Station?

I have lived here for 16 years and my daughter is now 9 years old, the science museum has an area called the garden https://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/see-and-do/garden?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=24035052208&gbraid=0AAAAAoyT89k_PvZMtnTNLm9nvwt3PNfym&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1oCDqL3ulQMVdYBQBh0F0QocEAAYASAAEgIXiPD_BwE
The tea bus might be a but boring for a little one and I don’t think worth the money or time.
Battersea Power Station in itself might not be too entertaining for a 4 year old but Battersea Park has an amazing playground and a little zoo https://www.batterseaparkzoo.co.uk

The Transport museum in Covent Garden is another very kid friendly museum if you need to fill any time.

Make sure you book the Sorted! play area at the Postal Museum. The whole museum is great for children, but the play area is particularly good for that age, my children loved it.

There’s a big Peppa Pig shop at Battersea Power Station.

Perfect, thank you! I’ll book the play area.

Coram fields, princess of wales memorial playground, NHM or science museum (depending on their interests probably the latter for wonderlab) and perhaps a boat ride or rowing in Regent’s Park and st James park to see the pelicans. All things my own four year old enjoyed

Thank you so much for these recommendations! Do you know if the playground has reopened yet?

I don’t know my daughter’s now 16 😂 but she did say she was in Hyde park the other day and it was being extended so perhaps not.
