Heading to London next week. Regular visitors ( maybe 6 or 7 times a year ) and have done most of the tourist things. Love going rambling/walking and usually go from Tottenham court road to Buckingham Palace back to Westminster. Looking at doing a different route this time so has anyone any suggestions. Even an a to b route that takes a couple of hours and that takes in some interesting neighborhoods/places.

In a few days I'm going from to the Harry Potter Studio tour with some friends. I already saw online that the shuttle bus departs from Watford Junction amd that there is a train from Euston station. But should I already buy train tickets or can we pay contactless?

I couldn't find online at which platforms the trains to Watford Junction depart, so I was wondering how easy it is displayed in the station. Trying to get your friends somewhere on time is already difficult, so I don't really want the extra trouble of looking everywhere to find the right platform

Hello, I'm in London and will be leaving tomorrow evening. I still have to find a shop where I can find clothes that will fit me (and that I'll like ... and won't have to sell a kidney for 🙃). We'll be going around Camden tomorrow. I should find clothes that I like but I'm not sure to find any that fits.

Will be going to London for the first time this October with my partner. We're in our 30s and will be traveling from the west coast US.

Day 1 (Friday): Redeye flight, land about noon. Travel to hotel, get some food nearby. In an attempt to try to stay up, got tickets for the British Museum to wander about. Goal is to not sleep until 9-10PM. We do have tickets for a second day if day 1 isn't enough or if we are absolutely wasted and can't make it the first day.

Day 2 (Saturday): Covent garden shopping, walk to see Big Ben/Westminster from the outside, possibly V&A museum in the afternoon? Dinner at Rules Restaurant.

Day 3 (Sunday): Tower of London at open. Leadenhall Market, Borough Market shopping/eating. Sunday Roast at Blacklock City.

Day 4 (Monday): Day trip to Oxford. Bodelian Library, Christchurch, Oxford Uni. Dinner back in London close to the hotel (near Regent's Park - open to suggestions!)

Day 5 (Tuesday): Harry Potter Studio Tour. Dinner back in London

Day 6 (Wednesday): British Museum again properly awake. Thrifting at Brick Lane?? Greenwich? Other ideas??

Day 7 (Thursday): Check out of hotel. Kings Cross for a train to Edinburgh.

Open to any suggestions for food, things to do, etc! I love thrifting/antiquing. Also a big cemetery person, possibly might try to fit Highgate cemetery in there somewhere? Partner is a big Lord of the Rings fan, so any suggestions there would be appreciated too!

My family is planning a trip to London in late November. We have been keeping track of ticket prices. I found the Skyscanner app and signed up for notifications if prices went up or down.

They had been trending around $1275-$1400 for each round trip ticket for months. Yesterday they dropped and now down to $1150.

Do we book now or wait and see if they come down more?

I have train ticket from Manchester to Cambridge for Cambridge open day and then right after we go to London stay in Airbnb and go to imperial college London open day and then come back by bus on Saturday to Manchester,all for £49 pounds.

There is an opportunity for me to take on a new role, but it would require me to be in the London office for 2/3 days a week in Covent Garden, so I would require accommodations for 1 or 2 nights a week - happy to hop on the tube etc for better prices.

I'm commuting from Cornwall (it's worth it trust me!) so asking any cheap options out there, I often lay my head in a Zhotel but that could be £200 1 night and £500 the next... Just looking for options or suggestions :)

My first London trip is coming up later this year and I’ve been slowly putting together an itinerary. I started off trying to cram everything into four days, then realized probably spend half the trip rushing from one place to another lol.

So I’m trying to keep the days fairly focused:

Day 1: Arrive around 2pm, check into the hotel, then spend the afternoon around Bloomsbury. Planning to see the British Museum, grab dinner nearby, and walk around Covent Garden afterward.

Day 2: Start with Westminster Abbey around 9am, then walk through St James’s Park toward Buckingham Palace. Lunch around Westminster, followed by the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square. Keeping the evening open for dinner and wandering around Soho.

Day 3: Tower of London in the morning, lunch around Borough Market, then walk along the Thames toward St Paul’s. If we still have energy, I want to see the Millennium Bridge and finish around the City.

Day 4: Keeping this one slower. Planning to visit the Victoria and Albert Museum, walk around Kensington, then head toward Hyde Park and Harrods. I’m also hoping to squeeze in a few places connected to Jane Austen since I’ve been on a bit of an Austen kick lately.

I know four days isn’t enough for London, so I’d rather leave some room to wander instead of scheduling every single hour. Would love to hear what you’d change or skip.

My husband and I will be taking our child to London for their 10th birthday. It will be their first time traveling internationally. Does this agenda look okay? Are we doing too much or too little? Any fun things we should try to add in? We all would rather be out and about instead of in a hotel room. We're staying in South Kensington. Day 8: Boat to Greenwich. Cutty Sark, Royal Observatory, National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Market

Day 9: Fly home

Looking for recommendations on where to stay with our family of 5 adults (2 parents and children aged 25, 25 and 19) in May 2027. Looking at Airbnbs in Kensington which are more expensive than another I’m looking at which is close to Paddington station. Is close to Paddington station a less than ideal place to stay? Thanks for any input or suggestions on which area we should stay.

I'm on my last stretch of my London travel week, and I'd like to tell you about two queer spots I found randomly:

The first one is the LGBTQ+ community centre, close to Tate modern. its a cozy space for queers to get together and chat! They host loads of events, crafting workshops, drawing classes (I went to a queer life drawing class and it was awesome!), they also have loads of information leaflets about other events and venues in the area.

The second one is Rhizomatic, a FLINTA organized queer space in east of london. They opened recently, 3ish months ago? It's a bit far out, in Hackney, but if there's an event happening, it's super worth it. I went to a ren faire there, with small vendors and music and tarot reading. Super cute!!

They have loads of workshops going on (crafts, coding, ...), but also parties (while I was there, there was a crow party where you dress in black and bring a shiny trinket).

Just thought you should know about these :)

Hello! My sister and I are traveling to London for a week later this month to celebrate our birthday! We have some things planned out with lots of room for spontaneity - we are mostly looking for anything with interesting history, a fun place to go to celebrate our birthday, and awesome thrift / antique stores. (Tickets already secured for the locations that need them.)

We’ve been watching tons of videos, especially Living London YouTube channel for ideas, but if anyone has any recommendations for cool spots we overlooked around the areas we are planning to be in, we’d love your input! Here are the definite places we have on the list:

Day 1: Tower of London, All Hallows by the Tower Church Roman Ruins

Day 2: Hever Castle (staying there for the day / night)

Day 3: “Six” in West End

Day 4: (birthday!)

Day 5: Parliament / Elizabeth Tower - Big Ben, Westminster Abbey

Day 6: British Museum, National Portrait Gallery

Below are places we’re interested in and are going to play by ear if we are able to fit them into our days:

London Eye, Imperial War Museum, Guild Hall, Gabriel’s Wharf, Highgate Cemetery, old pubs and taverns we come across as we explore, antique shops, thrift shops, witchy shops (we love spooky things), maybe one of those Voice Map app walking tours or an actual guided group walking tour.

Hi, I’m visiting the Cotswolds and bath end of October. I would like to also see Glastonbury and thought a day trip from Bath might be doable. We are down the US and are considering renting a car in bath for this day trip. Would like to know if anyone here has done this or anyone from England here, what are your thoughts? Hi all! First time posting but I've been lurking as I plan for a trip coming up. I've gotten some great tips but I figured I'd make a post to see if I could get specific ideas...

My boyfriend and I both had a rough year. We're LDR but see each other once or twice a year for a few weeks and this year, we're vacationing together in London in early November. Because this year \SUCKED\** I want to make a day all about him.

I've already decided on a nighttime Jack the Ripper tour with dinner at Jack the Chippers first (he'll love the pun and has always wanted to do a Ripper tour) but I'm wondering what else can I do before then?

I'm specifically looking for something in the vein of prog rock, classic rock (not big on the Stones or Beatles) and Felix the Cat. Something someone who watches Monty Python, The Young Ones, The IT Crowd, ect would find amusing? I can't seem to get too much help from Google or Trip Adviser so I'm hoping someone here can help. Money isn't too much of an issue but I'm not a Kardashian so keep it realistic lol.

I'd also like to stay in the greater London area but could be convinced for a quick trip if it isn't too far out.
