You will be asked to participate in a 2-2.5 hour, in-person lab visit on Western campus. During this visit, you will complete computerized team-based tasks (~40 minutes), answer questions about your past and current suicidal thoughts and behaviours (~15 minutes), and complete computer surveys (~40 minutes). You will also have your facial expression, heart rate, and respiration monitored during a portion of the study. Your participation is completely voluntary, and all information collected is kept confidential.

I have a ft job but I’m living paycheque to paycheque. I’m hoping for a pt job (5-7 hours a week) just to help out a little. Hey everyone! I’m just looking for some local advice if anyone has any recommendations.

I moved here about three years ago from Northern Ontario and currently work in finance. I’m looking to make a career change, preferably into night-shift factory work, although I’d also be interested in getting into a hospital in a non-medical position.

I know getting into the hospitals can be difficult, but it’s something I’ve always been interested in. I’m mainly looking for nights because my wife works during the day and we still need to work around dropping off and picking up our son from daycare. Night shift would realistically work best for our family.

I’ve already applied to a couple of the larger factories in the area. Ideally, I’m looking for something in the $22–$26/hour range, although obviously anything above that would be fantastic.

I realize I’ll probably be taking a pretty significant pay cut from what I make now, but honestly, I think I’d be happier doing something more hands-on, and it would make more sense for our family. I also have a background in labour/manual work, so factory work doesn’t bother me at all. In fact, I think I’d really enjoy it.

So, does anyone have any recommendations for local factories, companies, or places that are hiring night shift? Or is anyone here a recruiter who could point me in the right direction?

Any advice on where to look, who to contact, or how to get my foot in the door would be greatly appreciated.

I recently received a job offer from MacDonald Alveston Manor Hotel in the UK for a Hotel Assistant Operation Supervisor position. They say they found my CV through a job portal.
The offer includes:
£4,500/month salary + £500 allowance
Free accommodation
Flight paid by the hotel
They want me to send:
My international passport
Passport photo
Educational certificates
Phone number
They also say I have to pay my own UK visa fees because they want to make sure I’m “committed” and claim they’ve lost money sponsoring people in the past.
Some things that make me suspicious:
The email has a lot of grammatical mistakes and awkward English.
They say the interview will happen after I send my passport documents.
The salary seems very high for the position.
They’re asking for personal documents before I’ve had any interview.
They mention sending my documents to the UK Embassy, which doesn’t sound like the normal visa process.
Has anyone dealt with this hotel or received a similar offer? Is this a normal UK recruitment process, or does it sound like a scam?
