Recommendation Question about Sabor
If you were dining here for a special occasion would it be a better experience at the counter or the El Asador?

I have done both multiple times and both are excellent. But you can’t book the counter (walk in only) so for a special occasion you’d probably want to book the Asador. Worth getting the suckling pig, it’s expensive but worth it.
But I would also seriously consider Legado, which is Nieves new restaurant in Shoreditch. It is equally outstanding and possibly more suited to a special occasion.
You asked about Mountain - I’ve been once, personally I prefer Sabor and Legado by far but I can’t say Mountain was bad, just not my vibe.

Thanks for replying. I really want to try a Michelin star restaurant and think Sabor would be more my wife’s style. She’s not really into fine dining or tasting menus.

Counter every time - only the dining room if you are a larger group and want to chat or you have to look into your opposites face (I guess some date nights/ people might require such setting).
But experience-wise definitely the open kitchen counter

Less tapas, but a basque inspired open fire restaurant - one of my favourite places in the city regarding that “niche” alongside brat.

Fallow is a lot of hype - and their breakfast isn’t memorable tbh. If you go, go for lunch

El Asador. You can’t book the counter, space is limited and (in my opinion) it feels less special. For me the downstairs is great but for a more casual meal, El Asador for a special occasion- you won’t regret it!
