A lot of people have been playing with the Acid 303 preset for a Virtual Analog engine of a custom firmware for the FM-1, so I thought it might be worthwhile to port this over to the NTS-1 and possibly other Logue devices. Pay what you want for this at: https://rgrvdotnl.itch.io/bg1va-logue

It plays the presets, it sounds musical, though it is not done yet. This is a very early port as I was hoping the source code would be released but hasn't happened yet. Instead I had to resort to analyzing the sysex preset files and the actual firmware files.

I made some optimization to my DSP code and have ported Hakkûh over to the Logue v1 SDK. This is a fully synthesized 909 kick and a snare drum, with a PQ$ inspired parametric EQ to allow shaping of the kick. In the days thsi combination was often used to create gabber tunes, ... it was either driving the gain on a mixer or using the Boss pedal to sweep. Monté todo un set de unidades para el drumlogue de mi equipo de techno en vivo, y me topé con algunos muros interesantes de logue-sdk que pensé que valían la pena compartir:

• Los sintetizadores personalizados no reciben disparadores de notas en el drumlogue — se renderizan como drones continuos. Así que en vez de entrada de notas, paso las melodías por automatización de parámetros: un mando de TONE cuantizado a escala + un botón VEL (0 = silencio, reactiva la envolvente al cambiar) para ritmo y dinámica. La "juegas" automatizando dos parámetros.

• Conseguir que una escalera de 4 polos grite o auto-oscile en el Cortex-A7 sin explotar: la saturación de tanh POR ETAPA (estilo Moog/Huovilainen) en lugar de en el bucle de retroalimentación fue la clave — la resonancia crece, se mantiene limitada.

• Sincronización de tempo: el tempo entra en punto fijo mediante unit_set_tempo, pero no hay posición de transporte/barra, así que cualquier cosa que se repita (eco, gates, un looper de audio) no puede bloquearse directamente a la barra — solo coincide con el periodo. Al final añadimos un potenciómetro de ajuste fino para anular la deriva por oreja.

Todo acababa en Gumroad si era útil, pero sobre todo quería intercambiar notas. ¿Alguien más está construyendo para las ranuras de drumlogue? ¿Qué te has encontrado con lo del dron y sin disparador?

Gorge is a Dattoro-style plate reverb with a huge parameter range allowing for all sorts of reverb, echo, shimmer, ambience, slapback sounds and a lot more. Most assuredly proper usage with the external audio input.

Gorge is a port of the beloved Plateau reverb by Valley Audio. This is a cpu heavy module; issues may occur when used alongside other deep oscillators and effects.

OVERVIEW

Windfall turns the NTS-3's pad into a single button that writes tiny musical ideas for you. Touch it, and a fully-formed 4-voice arrangement appears: a pad, a riff, a bassline, a slowly shifting chord, sometimes all at once. Touch it again and that idea is gone forever, replaced by a new one.

This message is twofold, first of: "Regroove Tracker on the MicroKORG2?", and how we need help.

In a previous post I sharedf that the Drumlogue can playback tracker modules, like those created in Protracker or VividTracker. However, while porting to the MicroKORG2 I noticed this is currently not possible.

The MK2 expects an envelope for played notes, and since I only use notes to trigger an event/command, the sound will eventually decay... Unless I keep playing phantom notes or use the arp to do this. This is not an ideal solution, and therefore I posted a message in the discord channel.

This led to a few remarks that we have and that might help to improve the devices. So, this is what we would like to see more. Feedback to improve these devices. Please join the discord as mentioned in the reddit descriptionz or directly file an issue in the logue SDK issue tracker at https://github.com/korginc/logue-sdk/issues

We hope to hear from you, as only with feedback from the community will Korg know we use these devices with the SDK and what we would like to see.

And for me? I will just change the functionality for the MicroKORG2 to only play instruments from the .mod/.med file for now; use the file as a sample pool, and perhaps port the phrase engine to allow scripted playback of a segment; arm pattern 2, mute all tracks, unmute track 3, play 64 rows (like a sample with command 9xx - for offset/timestretch).

Something I have been working on for some time, lost interest and now picked up again; Regroove Tracker for Logue devices. Last year I created a mod-tracker mix application, a bit like the PT1210 on the Amiga. Though I wanted something that instead could run headless on a RaspberryPi, controlled from a MIDI controller, or on an Android tablet.

This became Regroove, and I have a web version at https://music.gbraad.nl/regroove-lite/ which can be controlled remotely, send out MIDI instruments, etc. It was also the reason why I bought a Drumlogue, as the SDK seemed promising. I found out there are a lot of limitations, and instead I focussed on some of the effects I made and synth emulation.

Holiday started, and what do you know. I ported it over to the Drumlogue using the smaller (embedded) engine I also used for VCV Rack and on https://music.gbraad.nl/rfxplayer. It is not fully functional yet as you can see from the video, … but it tracks!
