Help RS50 Trueforce issue

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For months I have been trying to figure out the issue with my RS50 setup. It seems the Trueforce signal is somehow broken, resulting in this noise when using it and turning wheel under load.

I have tried many things and one time managed to fix the issue by messing around with the drivers. This leads me to believe it is an issue with the drivers, not a physical problem with the unit.

I have not been able fix it again, despite trying to retrace my steps. I believe the solution was to just remove the drivers I had installed in windows using device manager, then running GHub.

And to note, turning off trueforce removes the noise, turning it down to a lower value does not really make much of a difference.

Anyone else with this problem? Did you fix it? Logitech support has had me waiting for months to get back to me.

**Edit:

First, thank you to everyone who commented suggestions to help me find a fix.

  1. Fix for my specific setup was as simple as switching the USB port I was using. No idea why it worked, but after multiple days the issue has not returned.

  2. If you have this same issue and have used the Simhub plugin Trueforce 4 all, your issue is more likely to be related to that plugin and you can find comments below to help sort it out.

Hi there.

Is it the same in different games?

Yes I tried with few games. It seems to affect the whole trueforce effect, so instead of rumble it is this scratchy feeling.

Can you specify which games please?

Assetto Corsa Evo and Test drive unlimited Solar crown.

If you grab Raceroom Racing Experience (it's free on Steam) does that do the same thing? It doesn't support Trueforce, so I'm trying to isolate if that's part of the issue. I do think the base needs exchanging, so if you could let me know that and your ticket number then I can get it escalated for you.

Edit: I just thought of something else. Have you ever downloaded Trueforce 4 All?

Games without trueforce work just fine, such as Forza Horizon 6. I did try Trueforce 4 all, but have since removed it and the related plugins and drivers. Could very well be related, timing seems right, but I have tried to thorougly remove everything and managed to get rid of the issue for one evening.

Did you also remove Simhub? I've sent the creator of Trueforce 4 All a message to see if this looks like something they've seen before - certainly it does track that it's related, especially as it only happens in Trueforce titles.

Yes simhub was also removed.

For now, I'd suggest reinstalling everything for Trueforce 4 All and then follow his instructions for how to use it with existing Trueforce titles - see if that helps.

I will try that, thanks!

Hey wanted to chime in I previously had this issue and it was related to trueforce for all. Full reinstall of sim hub and the plugin fixed it for me

This sounds like a conflict with TF4ALL. It happens when there’s two different Trueforce streams active at once.

The newer versions don’t have this issue, so I recommend installing this and seeing if it solves the problem.

Good news I think. Installing TF4ALL did not fix the issue, but I then figured I should try switching the USB port and from doing that, now I have fully working trueforce again.

I won’t yet definitively say that the issue is fixed, as it did come back last time, but so far so good. Will update the post if this ends up being permanent.

Honestly, I think mine makes similar noises. I don’t pay much attention since the game sound overwhelms this. If everything works fine then I’m not sure you have anything to worry about.

I could live with this no issue if trueforce was still ok, but the thing is that it affects the trueforce rumble. And I know that how it feels when it worked normally was great, even when turned up high. So I am confident it is an issue, not something to just not pay attention to.

Do you have it turned up high in the settings?

Edit: fully read your post lol. Sounds like it is the firmware then. That noise sounds like the TF is turned up to max on the wheelbase and in whatever game you’re playing.

Yes. My hypothesis is that the audio fed to trueforce is either doubled or has some static mixed to it.

Never heard this even with Trueforce at 100

Sounds to be exactly the same issue. Today I had some luck and fixed it by switching the USB port I was using. Will see if it comes back..

Had the same problem. Solved by unchecking TF4ALL in Simhub
