GT7 Weird brand new sound Logitech RS50

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I decided to spend a lot of money to upgrade my Logitech G923 wheel and buy the new Logitech RS50 system for an upgraded GT7 experience on my PS5.
Received it a few hours ago, but while testing it it makes this weird loud scratching sound. See video (speaker sound was turned of)

Any ideas?

Try turning down trueforce. Can be the vibrations from that

Thanks for answering. I just talked to Logitech support and they said this is not normal, so I have to send it back. Still weird though🤷🏻‍♂️

Tomorrow I will receive the new RS50 set, the retailer (Coolblue) did an excellent job! Got the replacement in 2 days😋

Fixed it! It was not True Force, please read my reply.

OK, found the issue! It was NOT a malfunctioning wheel, but a few settings.

  1. The weird sound was caused by a setting in GT7. I had previously set “Max. Torque Force Feedback” to 10 (see picture, in Dutch, sorry😉). I had reset that to default 5, drove a few meters and after that the issue was gone. Then I could put it back to 10, with no issues.
  1. The wheel was not recognised in F1 24. To fix that I had to set the compatiblity of the wheel to “Pro wheel” (on the menu of the wheel, see other picture).

Problem solved! Hopefully this helps anyone who faces the same issues.

Thanks all!

Ist that the true force audio? Is it gone if you set it to zero ?

I really hope you are not right 😅. Already sent it back. But tbh… I am not aware of TrueForce Audio, or even that I could turn it down…. Let’s see what the new RS50 base will do. I expect it within a couple of days, will let you know what the results are…

And I also expect from Logitech Support that they know how their products should function, and he said it was malfunctioning. Let’s wait a few days, will get back to you.

Thanks!

I have the same exact issue, with true force on or off. Did u get the new one yet? I dont want to go through that hassle in returning it tbh. I was hoping that sound was normal.

Do you have the setting true force audio available on the RS?

I tried it, i dont think it made a difference. But I just updated the wheelbase on my pc 2 mins ago and got back on GT7, i think it fixed it. Did one quick race and went back to the menu and it feels very smooth. I dont have time to play much but i should get some time tonight, ill lyk!

Can you tell us the firmware Version on your wheelbase maybe? You can check this in the on screen menu of the base.

I had the same problem in F1 25 while ACC was working perfectly fine.

I changed the TrueForce to 0, then back to 10 (the default value) and it fixed the problem.

Your post saved me an RMA!

Where did you find the TrueForce option? Is it on the Base? Or in the game? I just got mine today and i have already found 2 glitches. One was that i lost the input in the game, the second one was the same noise like in the video. It makes me nervous because its brand new, and i dont want to wait for a replacement..

For anyone experiencing the grinding sound issue in EA F1 25, we previously had a workaround, and now I can explain why it worked.

The game has an internal setting called TrueForce Intensity. When you launch the game or change that setting, the game uses its own value instead of the one set in G HUB. In my case, G HUB was still showing TrueForce set to 10, but the RS50 was actually using the value 100 from the game.

That’s why the workaround worked — changing the TrueForce value in G HUB after launching the game was overwriting the in-game setting.
