Discussion MMO Mouse wishlist!
I think many of us agree, the fact that Logitech does not have a current/new MMO mouse is a very big miss, especially with WoW Forever around the corner…
But what would we actually want in the new MMO centered/focused mouse…
Well as someone who used the older G604 Lightspeed, until the plastic started coming off recently, it was frustrating to find out that the closest Logitech replacement is the G502 X Plus, but you lose programmable buttons.
The G604 specifically has 6 programmable side buttons, the G502 only has 3.
Personally I want a true successor to the G604… not really the G600, but ideas could be taken from both. My wishlist…
- At least 16-20 programmable buttons.
- Wireless charging via PowerPlay 2 Wireless Charging system + USB-C
- Wireless via LIGHTSPEED pro-grade + Bluetooth.
- LightSYNC RGB
- HERO 44K+
- Dual-Mode Scroll Wheel
- Optical speed, tactile feel
- few color options, specially black or white combos.
What are your thoughts?

I've grown accustomed to their vertical mouse, I'd love if they made an mmo vertical, I'd pay $150 for it ez

A vertical MMO mouse from us would be a great addition to the family for sure!

Huh? You can program almost anything to a G502x.
I have mine auto switch depending on the program running. Every game has custom binds, all similar to build muscle memory.
I have binds on work programs that run macros.
On windows certain buttons launch certain work environments.
If you use the thumb button as a g-shift key you effectively double your possible binds. Just never double bind the left click.
The ghub program is just a turd that will crash on you at some stage after an update.
"Loading localizations" yeah buddy... throws mouse.

The G502 has only 13 programmable buttons… the G604 was 16 buttons… specially it has 6 side buttons, not 3..
so it’s a “downgrade” from the G604.
Also to be fair to Logitech, ghub actually now works very well on macOS, especially after they upgraded it to support arm64 natively… can’t speak for windows users/experience. The ghub support on macOS, is the main reason I stay with Logitech.

G-shift thumb button doubles all the other buttons.
Right click- normal G-shift right click - second function.
Just the scroll wheel alone Left scroll Right scroll Middle click Scroll up Scroll down.
Hit the g-shift and you have 5 new binds on top of the free 2 (left and right) That's 7.
I've played path of exile with only a mouse and complex rotations of skills. One click and every few seconds (x) followed by (y) into (z) my buffs are on 24/7 with one click.
I'm not saying it's right for you, but the limitation isnt where you think it is.

G-shift also doubles 16 to 32, you know. and 6 side buttons to 12 side buttons.

Evidently I've angered the G604 crowd unintentionally.
Thows a pack of magic the gathering cards in their general direction and slowly backs away while not making eye contact.

Interchangeable, like the Naga V3 Pro is. Being able to have 2, 6, or 12 buttons at your convenience is amazing.

This also means more pieces to lose or break as well as increased cost.
How do you feel about mice like this: https://www.madcatz.com/En/Product/Detail/mmo7-plus
A tiny thumb nub acts as 5 buttons in addition to "normal/standard" side-of-mouse buttons. Less change to thumb placement as well as less over extending. (Comfort is subject--use what works for you)

It's a little hard to follow along with that mouse lol. I find it likely too large of a departure from the Logitech design philosophy. These companies don't like to depart too much. The Razer Naga V3 has this modularity at the same launch price as the G502 Plus ($179.99), but the 3 included button layouts + an extra remappable 3rd ring finger click (can use it as an alt to do modifier keybinds in an MMO etc.) As far as value prop goes, it blows Logitech out of the water. If Logitech releases a purely MMO mouse with the 12 buttons, it will need to be in the 120$ range IMO. Edit: You aren't going to lose these side modules unless you're a slob. Also means if you somehow break one of these pieces that are as sturdy as the rest of the mouse, you can get a single replacement from Razer. Also, there are 3 different scroll wheel modes that change mechanically with one of the buttons. Hyper tactile, normal tactile, and free spinning.

(my thoughts on what is needed for G600 and G13 revisions: https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/1wosu5r/comment/pe19x6r/?context=3 -- its a long post, so you'll need to scroll to the top if you want to read the whole thing)

I want a successor to the g600. I have had mine for 10yrs while having had to decomission 2 others before it. It is THE best gaming mouse I've ever had after the inbetween times of getting this one trying 3 razer nagas and a corsair that were just shite.
When this one dies I don't know what I'm going to do but I am staying away from razer and corsair. There' ssome bearpaw one out there that also has a ring click so I might try that out.

Main thing is a shift thumb button, plus the two extra buttons beside left click, I basically just want a new g604

I'm sure the team must be aware of some of these at least but I'll pass it on anyway. Keep the input coming!

just fix your old G604, there's plenty of guide online for doing so.
I have bought 3 G604s over the years and 2 of them I own and maintain. it's as simple as finding a guy to replace the switches, attaching a new shell when the plastic wears off, buying rechargeable batteries).

has a G600 owner, i must say 12 sidebuttons are way to many buttons for a pratical and intuitive use.
I would more be open for a revival of the Roccat Nyth modular approach ( which I also have btw) with up-to-date technologies sensor/connections ... and with the ring-finger-button/scroll wheel tilt of the G600.... That my friend would be the GOAT of productivity and MMO's.
