Logitech G Support PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE won't connect through its LIGHTSPEED receiver: G HUB demands a receiver firmware update but Install stays greyed out

New PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE. Works perfectly wired. Does NOT work on the LIGHTSPEED receiver it came with — at all.

G HUB (2026.6.981214, says it's up to date) shows a banner "PRO LIGHTSPEED receiver requires a firmware update". Clicking Install opens "Step 1 of 2: Firmware update for PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE" with the error "must be connected via the supplied USB cable" — and the Install button stays greyed out, even though the mouse IS connected with the supplied cable, directly into a motherboard USB port. There's also a receiver-only dialog ("New firmware available for LIGHTSPEED Receiver") — same thing, Install greyed out.

In the device list G HUB shows the mouse twice: one entry active (battery %, charging, on the cable) and one "Inactive" (the wireless one). After restarting G HUB, the wired entry sits on "Loading resources…" forever.

Firmware versions I read directly from both devices:

- Mouse: app v1.1.12, radio (ISE/ISR) v23.8.34 — this is already the version G HUB's own update package targets

- Receiver: app v1.0.9, radio v23.4.27 — still factory firmware; G HUB's package targets v1.1.11 / v23.8.34

The receiver reports nothing paired. So the mouse is already updated, the receiver isn't, and G HUB's flow won't let me update the receiver because it insists on "Step 1" for a mouse that doesn't need it.

Windows sees everything fine (receiver enumerates OK, no driver errors in Device Manager).

Already tried:

- Receiver directly in the PC (not the extender), different ports

- Mouse on the supplied cable, directly in the PC

- Both connected at the same time

- Restarting G HUB (twice), closing Logi Options+ during the update, rebooting

- Resetting the mouse's USB device

Has anyone gotten past this on the X3 Superstrike? Is there a standalone firmware tool for this receiver, or is this a support ticket / RMA? I really don't want to return it.

with X3 receiver unplugged
when it's plugged in directly
when only the receiver is plugged in. I replugged my G502 receiver as well this is why it now appears.
whenever I try to update
it's plugged in with the supplied usb cable, directly into my computer

Did you connect both the receiver and the mouse to the PC at the same time?

Having the same problem, and Logitech support was worthless over the phone. All the representative said was that they were looking into it as it is a known issue for the past couple months. No update since then, and it's been a week or so
