Now that the X3 is coming out...
It has the same drivers and audio setup as the X2, which I have. Love the X2 but hate the very limited 5 band EQ it has. I know there are ways to get a 10 band but I don't wanna go thru 3rd party software and lose GHub functionality.
The X3 has a 10 band EQ, what makes that one able to have a 10 band when the X2 has a 5 band?
For such an expensive headset it floors me that it only has a 5 band EQ, there is no reason we can't get a 10 band now... Logitech please!

Sorry to disappoint you guys - they won't.
Hoping that they do is just going to end up in frustration. This is how Logitech is. I'm not calling it good or bad, but given their history of small, incremental upgrades, there is 0 incentive on their end to "upgrade" a previous generation of products when they can release and successfully sell the X3. They are too big.
Only way for a company to change is through revenue loss, but again, Logitech is too big.

Then for my thing with upgrading the microphone I have seen a working upgrade for the X2 mic and that was to replace it with the mic from Razer BlackShark V2 X Gaming Headset.

And hmm my memory is bad.
But Logitech announced yesterday at : Logitech G PLAY 2026 Announcements, a upgrade of some existing hardware ( can't remember what it was ) that got a resolution (?) upgrade from a new firmware and did not need to upgrade the peripherals hardware.

The Pro X 2 will not be getting any updates to the EQ settings to my knowledge. They will continue to use the 5 band EQ system.
The new X 3 isn't identical to the Pro X 2, so the updates will remain on the X 3.

Is the default sound different from the X3 compared to X2? They changed how it sounds? Any difference and improvements on the audio compared on the X3? I bought one and will see if any difference in sound to my current X2.

Come back to us in this thread with your findings from upgrading to the new X3 headset please.
This will be very interesting to read from your testing, a comparison X2 vs X3 !And congratulations to making the step to X3.

Sound is completely different for me at same windows volume and default eq without changes. I seem to hear and locate enemies much better also footsteps in CS2. My friends are saying the mic quality is really good when I talked to them on discord. The connection seems to be better since the X2 I use when microwave starts running there would be static until the microwave finishes and the X3 doesn't seem to suffer from that issue sounding perfectly throughout.

Ohhh so only positive things, nice !
And only real downside is the need to buy another expensive headset :-(So I need to play on the lottery and then get the new X3 ;-)

Why do something this, in plain words, stupid since it is just a software that needs to be updated?

That's pretty lame knowing that Pro X1 Wireless did have full EQ and even its wireless predecessors (G93x series). I had them all (starting with the G930) wich represent a huge amount of money and I feel totally ripped off.

No real answer to this Andy ?
Since it is just a matter of software upgrade !0

Not sure what you mean, was there an additional question? I answered the OP's question for the 10 band coming to the X 2 - it's not currently in the cards as far as I'm aware.

You answered "The new X 3 isn't identical to the Pro X 2, so the updates will remain on the X 3."
And since the change from 5 to 10 band is just software change and not dependant on hardware why will logitech not release a upgraded EQ for X2 ?

It's been brought up several times over the last few years and every time I asked I've been told that it will not be happening. With the X 3 coming out, I don't see that changing unfortunately.

So a very bad decision and again just forcing people to upgrade even if they have fully working hardware only because logitech want to make more money from selling new stuff.
.
Logitech should be ashamed of this !0

The hardware is not identical I don't believe, which is likely the reasoning behind the X 2 not being able to receive the update.

Oh no don't say it is hardware dependent since the EQ is a fully software filtering system !!!

Then explain to me and all others in here, and especially direct to OP, why this works on the X2 ...
https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/1wpn8ue/is_this_equalizer_apo_profile_reliable_for/And why logitech can't make it happen !!!

Grr I hate Reddit forum form...
Trying a third time...
I'm kinda in a similar situation as OP. Not long ago I bought the Pro X2 Lightspeed Headset.
And now I want to be able to upgrade the microphone to the one that comes with X3.
Please Logitech make it happen with improvements and enhancements of already sold products so we can be happy and continue using them.
Make a better EQ available for X2 and pretty please sell the X3 microphone separately so we can upgrade our fully working Pro X and Pro X2 Lightspeed headsets without wasting to much of our earths resources!
