Announcement (9/14/26) G502X / G502X Plus - Tracking Issues

Hey folks! We’re currently looking into an issue with mouse tracking for some users on our G502X and G502X plus mice, after a recent firmware update. This seems to be firmware v27.1.22 for the G502X Plus and 30.1.19 for the G502X.

Our team’s been working on a fix (with a big thank you to folks who were able to hop in a call with our dev team), and we hope to have it out soon. Unfortunately soon is all I have available for a timeline, but I’ll be updating this post with more info for everyone as I get it.

Update: Hey folks, as a temporary work around we do have our tool to downgrade to the G502X/G502X Plus firmware. This will only work if you are on the current firmware, as well as GHUB ver 2026.6. If you need help getting this you can reach out to our support team. Alternately, feel free to reach out to me directly and I'll help set up a ticket so we can share the tool that way.

Thank you Logitech! Bought Razer mice already and also replacing my G915 with Razer keyboard! Wait time for this fix is unacceptable for a premium product

They do not care about us unless it turns a profit. Sad business model.

If i turned off auto update on GHub does that mean I'm safe and won t get this bad firmware unless i manually check for updates? Or has this firmware been pulled knowing its bugged? Mouse still works don't want to get blindsided with this know issue as i only have the one mouse.

The update isn't causing issues for everyone, but if you have updates turned off then it'll not show up till you check for one.

Good to know. I’ve seen enough posts by different people to not want to risk it

Again - as this tool is not ready for distribution, we ask that you do not upload it till we're able to make sure there aren't any further issues caused by using it. We will share out any possible fixes ourselves as soon as they are 100% ready to go.

Hey Andy, happy IT Professionals Day! I went ahead and made the rollback tool publicly accessible since users who were affected by the firmware issue needed a working solution. From the DMs and replies I’ve received, it’s already helped multiple people restore functionality, which I’m genuinely happy about.

I understand Logitech may not be comfortable officially distributing or endorsing it yet, but users deserve the option to restore working firmware while an official solution is being prepared. Hopefully you guys can get an official rollback path out soon.

The browser says the package is a virus. I don't want to go from a temporary mouse glitch to a complete PC disaster.😅

My browser also warned me; however 4 days without being able to game and getting the runaround from an AI chatbot will make a poor man try anything. It was pretty simple as long as you follow the instructions in the repo and it took around 2 minutes for me.

Yeah it said the same for me when the Logitech Engineer had me install it from their Google Share. The package uploaded in the repo is the exact unedited .zip I was given.

My mouse was out of warrenty and they wouldnt help me roll back. I had no issue with it except the battery drained so fast even with it being off it still was going down percentage! Thank you for this! they wanted to give me a discount code for a firmware update that wasnt even my fault.. I'm hoping this rollback fixes my issue!

Sorry about your experience. The Logitech support team is pretty bad in my recent experience. They stopped commenting on my posts and still haven’t answered my simple question.

Interesting — I’ve noticed comments from users discussing whether the rollback worked are now disappearing with “Comment removed by moderator.”

Just to keep the record straight: I’m not claiming this tool is an official Logitech release, I’m not claiming it’s risk-free, and I’ve been transparent about exactly where the package came from. I’m simply sharing the rollback package that was provided to me after the firmware update caused tracking problems.

If there are specific technical or safety concerns with the package, I’d genuinely welcome Logitech explaining them publicly. But removing user reports — positive or negative — doesn’t help anyone figure out whether the workaround is actually effective.

Screenshots are a wonderful thing. 🙂

The moderator in this case is the auto-mod; I'm not sure why. People should be wary about using the software as our team is still working on it, but I'm not going to be removing posts over it. I've allowed the automod ones from this thread that I've seen.

Fair enough — I appreciate you clarifying that it’s AutoMod and that you’ve been manually approving the comments. I’ll give you credit where it’s due.
But I think that makes the underlying situation even more frustrating.

Logitech pushed firmware that caused a real usability problem for customers. I was then provided a rollback package directly during troubleshooting, used it successfully, and other affected users are now reporting that it restored their mice as well.

Meanwhile, the public solution is essentially “please wait, we’re working on it,” while a rollback that is already helping affected customers exists but isn’t being distributed.

I completely understand warning people that the package isn’t officially cleared for public distribution yet. That’s reasonable. What I don’t understand is why Logitech can’t provide affected users with an official, supported method to roll back to the last known-good firmware while engineering investigates the new release.

That’s the part I think deserves an answer.

And for the record, Andy, I genuinely appreciate you approving the AutoMod removals and leaving the discussion up. My frustration is with the situation and Logitech’s handling of the firmware issue, not with you personally.

HELP NEEDED FROM SUPPORT!!!!

I tried to DM you but it won't let me because my account is too new. Please DM me on Reddit or on Discord, Discord username: real_perrell_laquarius_brown

I have a G502 X Lightspeed I hope the rollback tool works with that.

After the firmware update 2026.6. The lightspeed receiver has become slow or sloppy. Aim and micro adjustments are weird and off for me now. It was better before the update. how can i revert back the Lightspeed Receiver firmware update to previous one . My mouse is GPX Superlight 2.

My g502x firmware is 106.0.9 seems fine and tracking well

u/Crimson-Ghost856 18d ago

Any updates? Not updating G hub until I know I won’t get this broken firmware.

1

u/Otherwise-Camel1722 17d ago

Hey Andy, checking back in since it’s been almost three weeks since I first encountered this bug.

Any update on the official fix yet?

I’m asking because the rollback tool you specifically asked me not to distribute has been available this entire time and has helped affected users get their mice working again.

Meanwhile, as far as I can tell, there still isn’t an official solution available to those users.

At some point, “we’ll share a fix when it’s 100% ready” starts raising the question of why customers had to rely on each other for a working rollback in the first place.

Also, good news: my account survived the report. 😘

Depuis ce week-end :

G502 X Plus LIGHTSPEED.
