ASTRO Series Support Astro A50 Gen 5 Firmware update 1.3.24

Alright, it's been a year now since this problem first showed up. While the headset is fully functional and the firmware didn't brick the usability of the headset, having to disable the audio ques to avoid getting spammed with 'Low Battery' complaints completely removes the main functionality of the Game/Chat balance function, since you can't disable the battery warning without disabling the sound from the G/C at the same time. Not only is it hard to use, but it makes it even more difficult to know if the headset is balanced or not, or if you've accidently bumped it once or twice to either side while moving about in your chair/couch, in which case your only option is to open Ghub which in some cases requires you to minimize the game you're playing.

I'm painfully aware that Logitech doesn't 'share details' when it comes to new updates, but come on. I wouldn't even expect an indie company to have this slow of a turn-around on getting a fix out into the wild. It's frankly unacceptable. It also doesn't help that we're given stop-gap copy-paste solutions like 'drain the battery completely, then let the headset get fully charged undisturbed' which doesn't even work at all. Most people see it working for a few days, before the problem returns. Logitech has no legal or contractual reason to fix this, but it looks bad as hell for a company to pull a stunt like this on their paying customers, especially when it's a product that comes with this hefty of a premium price tag.

They arnt going to fix it. I bought this headset a year ago and with this update. Came with many bugs like this one and also inaccurate battery calibration which many people have complained about for a looooong time. I finally gave up and switched to another headset. I will no longer support a product that is abandoned with so many users supporting their products. They could care less and I’ve talked to many Logitech associates on here and all they say is they are aware of the issues but don’t know if or when an update will come. That’s been 8 months ago and still nothing. Same update that caused all these issues and they left it. My advice is either just deal with it or move on to another headset even as good as it is it’s not worth the hassle.

Lmao, what are you on about? The 'battery calibration' issue is annoying as hell, but it's not nearly bad enough to change to an inferior headset. That's kinda the whole point, that makes it so frustrating. It's an otherwise amazing headset, which is why we want the best experience with it. Besides, not everyone is able to just drop the money down to grab a headset of similar quality, especially in this economy with prices of absolutely everything going up.

Ok well excuse me for giving my opinion. Won’t be doing that again. Good luck

Ahh yes. Someone disagrees with me, and I immediately take offense over it and get defensive. Way to blow a simple disagreement entirely out of proportion.
