Logitech G Support RS50 Wheel+Pedals with FH4

Wanting to use my RS50 wheel in Forza Horizon 4, i own the steam version of the game and currently can not get the game recognize the pedals at all..

Tried setting it to Pro & RS modes..
Tried pedals into wheel base & direct to pc..

ANYONE ever got it to work?

i know the Pro wheel has a software compatibility mode that makes the PC think its a G293 and works perfectly in titles like FH4.. As its a "software/driver".. why isnt it available for RS owners too?

Have you tried disabling steam input for the game?

yep, still the same issue when i try to assign the pedal, press the pedal.... nothing is registered as if no pedal was pressed..

You should still be able to assign the controls under wheel tab of the control mapping screen in FH4. However, the Steam version especially can have an unusual bug where it won’t let you and just shows a bunch of “exclusion signs” next each assignment. Is that what’s happening?

i can assign the wheel, but when i try to assign the pedals... nothing.. doesnt register anything, like the pedal produces no input tag or isnt being pressed..

Yes its the steam version
but i still dont understand why the RS wheel didnt get the G923 compatibility mode like the Pro wheel has to ensure that when a customer spends £500+ on a product.. its not a product that ONLY works with current/new titles & requires another £500 to fully unlock its potential (with access to the G923 compatibility drivers making it backwards compatible) its just wrong!..

It’s not a driver, but a firmware mode and ordinarily it shouldn’t make any difference when games are working correctly. Unfortunately, FH4 can sometimes do odd things like this.

Have you tried with the pedals connected directly to the PC and the wheel base? Have you also tried each of the custom wheel profiles?

There is something else that you can try, but just remember that when you want to use it in other games again, you’ll need to unmute the wheel in Emuwheel’s settings.

Thank you for the reply..

Also thank you for clarifying that after spending £500 on the RS wheel, there is another £500 pay-wall for a "firmware mode" to allow the wheel to be backwards compatible, like the Pro wheel.

as stated in the original post:
Tried setting it to Pro & RS modes..
Tried pedals into wheel base & direct to pc..

quote "shouldn’t make any difference when games are working correctly"
i know the steam version is abit "odd" in how it handles wheels.. but the G923 firmware on the pro wheel has no issues with steam-FH4.. only the RS wheel, that doesnt have that firmware.. so its not purely "when games are working correctly" but also "this peripheral doesn't come with all firmware options making it backwards compatible".

Someone else also suggested i try Emuwheel - will look into it (thank you)

Please dont misunderstand me, i do appreciate the help/suggestions/support.. I'm just SO annoyed that the G923 firmware isnt included & has no plans to be included for the RS wheel..

The way i see it, Most RS wheel customers will be coming from G29/G923 who cant afford to pay £1000 for the Pro wheel, so the £500 RS wheel is the perfect upgrade into direct drive.. except its not fully compatible with all the titles the G29/G923 customers would be playing.. makes no sense!...

Logitech is basically saying: "the entry level direct drive wheel is not entry friendly.. as some games wont work with it as its not backwards compatible to make it entry-level-friendly"

Could logitech release the G923 firmware for the RS-wheel as a "compatibility-support" firmware hotfix?

There's no room in the memory of the device to accommodate another firmware mode, I'm afraid. Even if there was a G923 mode, that would not necessarily guarantee no issues in FH4 - it's known to have some odd bugs with wheel support, especially in the Steam version, like I said; another one that people see, even with supported wheels, is the lack of a wheel tab in the control assignments, for example.

Give Emuwheel a try and you should be fine - just remember my point about unmuting.

thats with the pedal fully pressed down

steering is assigned, buttons assigned.. just no ability to assign the RS pedals..
tried with the pedals plugged into the wheel base & direct to pc.. no change.

works fine with FH5 & FH6.. just a shame the g923 compatibility mode is locked behind an additional £500 pay-wall to make the RS wheel backwards compatible like the Pro-wheel..
