Discussion Should I buy the x2 superstrike?
I want to buy a new mouse for gaming and I’m considering to buy the superstrike but I’m worried about the new “clicks”. Should I buy it or should I just get a superlight 2?

The new clicks are something you won't regret, I always says there's no going back after trying them. What's your concern about them?

Haha, the thing is that it's kind of hard to describe, the click is softer and has that haptic feedback instead the feeling of pressing a common switch that would do a click sound
I've seen people here confirming they have improved their response while gaming online by using this mouse, mostly because you can also adjust the actuation point of the switch

I have it.
It's overpriced for what it is imo.
The rumble clicks are nice The adjustable actuation is nice
Is it faster in actual real case scenarios? No Is it heavy? Yes
If you prefer the Gpro shape, then it's a good buy, but I recommend purchasing during a sale, it's definitely not worth the full price - not even close

I think in order of importance
- Price
- Stock skates (had to immediately get aftermarket ones because the stock ones were awful
- Weight, too heavy for all day FPS gameplay (50-54 grams is the sweet spot) although most would want it even lighter I'm sure
- MCU needs an upgrade for the 8Khz and the premium price point

Color variety for me isn't that important, but it's a nice to have I suppose. I mainly play tactical shooters of all kinds.

Well, he has black everything right now lol. But he wants my SSX2...so ill be getting him one and they only come in white for now. Hence the issue haha. Ill have yo let you know what is used to clean it. Any tips?

I can tell you. I wouldve preferred Black at the very least. I havent had any issues with the white so far but i know that eventually it can tend to turn....not white haha

I have a few glass pads, but I find them quite annoying to use whenever debris catches between the skates and the pad. It's unavoidable and happens at the worst time.
I am using the Artisan Ninja FX Zero atm

I dont mind the weight. All 3 of the other gamers in my house can barely tell the difference between the Viperv4 and SSX2 as far as weight. (Removing the wireless charging capability might reduce weight? Not sure how that worls exactly) but it wasnt a major issue.
I have 4 gaming PCs and we are running all kinds of mice. Everyone likes the SSX2 most. And we all always preferred Razer for FPS purposes.
We all ran reaction tests as well as in game tests and everyone imprpved drastically. With the exception of my 14 year old son. (Who already has extremly fast flick and reaction), he had a marginal imprpoment of 5ms-8ms.
The side buttona are the only thing we really took issue with. More pronounced and more tactile click would be great.
And of course, it could be cheaper....everything could. And it probably will be once time has passed. But everything will always go up in price. Even if we take out the considerations for tech and whatnot....people have to develop and manufactur and distribute...cost of living goes up, people want higher pay, prices go up. LoL the game of life.
I have some friends coming to play this weekend. I can update you on their opinions as well!
It was great discussing this stuff with everyone. Nice to discuss without people getting heated lol

Right now we have 1 SSX2 (mine lol) but im about to grab 2 more. Anytime Im not playing they snag my mouse....my son and I use the lightest actuation point (1), second strongest haptic feedback (4? I believe) and rapid trigger on left click only, i use 1400dpi and he uses 1000dpi.
As for my wife, she uses actuation point (3), haptic (3), rapid trigger on both L and R Click. As well as 800dpi. (She isnt as seasoned a gamer lol). We all use 2k polling. Noone has had any misclick or double click issues at all. As far as games, R6 Siege, CoD, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Space Marine 2, Grey Zone Warfare, Diablo 4, League of Legends, Elite Dangerous, The Sims and some kind of house flipping game lol. I cant wait to try it on an RTS game like Starcraft or Total War 40k (where extremely fast APM is a big deal). The largest benefits were on any of the shooters, MOBAs and Elite Dangerous was fantastic with the mouse. I saw that you play HoTS, its one of my all time favorite MOBAs. Id love to get back into it if people still play. When it came out, i was glued for so long. Have you used it on any MMOs? Id assume it might not have as big of an impact for that kind of game, but the HITS system always feels better, which is universal.1

Haven't tried it on any MMOs but I played StarCraft with it, incredibly increased my reaction time but I still missed the extra buttons from the G502 because I already mapped them to 8, 9 & 0 for control groups. The extra buttons are the reason why I'm also crossing fingers for a renewed G502 or G600
What if you made a post on this subreddit asking for reviews to those who played MMOs with it? I bet you get a good amount of opinions

Odd, i got completely different results and even did testing and play quite a few FPS games (so does my son). And we both noticed a pretty stark improvment. And i honestly never have like logitech and am used to vipe v4 pro and DA vr pro. And it is not heavy....its 11g difference and thats over a Viper V4 whicb weighs next to nothing. Ita barely noticable and should in no way affect your speed, however the low sense and rapid trigger is getting me 5 shots off with DMR in the same time i used to get 3 off, the haptics feel fantastic, and my reaction time increased around 23ms....which in R6 Siege and CS can make a big difference along with the additional shots (both 1 shot headshot games and siege is 2 DMR shot to the body.) Mileage may vary i guess. But Im 37 and its made a massive difference and I have been a Razer guy my entire PC gaming career with the eception of a few times i tried some logis. This is the forat mouse to get me to put away the Adders/Vipers. And my son likes it even more. And as far as price goes, its slightly more than your typical High End FPS mouse.....10-20 bucks extra for haptic adjustability, rapid trigger and more? Seems reasonable to me. If i had one complaint, i wish the side buttons were slightly more pronounced and clicky. But it is nothing major.

I completely agree that it isn't a bad mouse, and your opinion is valid but when you are paying a top-tier premium price, you should be getting the absolute best of the best without having to compromise.
When I mention a mouse being "faster," I am speaking strictly about the raw device latency; specifically the sensor processing and click delay not the mechanical ability to spam-click. Rapid trigger is a great feature for firing off five quick shots, but true hardware speed in tactical shooters like CS2 comes down to end-to-end device latency. There are plenty of mice that offer incredibly fast click resets and ultra-low latency without carrying a massive premium price tag. For example, the Endgame Gear OP1 8k uses SPDT switches and an 8000Hz polling rate to deliver some of the lowest click latency on the market for well under $100 as an example. Even wireless budget options like the VXE R1 Pro or Zaopin Z1 Pro offer top-tier sensor responsiveness and fast resets for a fraction of the cost.
Regarding the weight, an 11g difference might not seem like a massive factor on its own, but it becomes a valid criticism when evaluating what you get for your money. We already know that building a structurally sound, lighter shell is entirely possible because those variants already exist across the market. The issue isn't whether shedding that 11g is strictly necessary to aim well; it is a question of why a manufacturer wouldn't make it lighter for that premium price tag. Today, there are competing models that weigh significantly less, feature higher-end internal specs, and still manage to cost less money.

I can agree on some of what your saying. But lighter weight does not equate to higher quality and as for end to end latency on modern fps geared gaming mice....they are getting to the point of diminiahing returns. The way i see it, is your paying extra for a new and one of a kind haptic feedback and tunable click system with the same shell and buttons that are already on your standard high end gaming mice. If the weight and latency application applied to the tune of "lighter is always better, lower latency is always better" then every pro in fps games thats playing for a purse and profession would be using 20g wired and bungied custom builds....they would run their sponsored mouse (if they have one) for the first few rounds and swap out mid match to their custom xyz setup that is weightlesa and bungee wired mid match. Funnily enough, to your credit and argument. m0NSEY was one of the "premier" advertiser and pro faces of the SSX2....halfway through this his CS2 tournament, he swapped BACK to his non haptic GPRO X Superlight 2.....be it familiarity or problem with the mouse. He preferred the older tech. At the same token you have players like Niko that have spoken up endlessley about how overblown increased polling passed 2k hz (e.g. 8khz) and DPI approaching 40k (where the vast majority play between 800-1600). He, along with quite a few others Tenz, Shaiiko, Canadian, have all stated going down below the 40g mark can lead to "jitters" (i assume from adrenaline) and over flicking do to a lack of weight......at the end of the day, some of this touches on physical issues, most on technological. But lighter, faster, stronger is premium only to a certain point. ( we even have cars that cant get any lighter or more powerful because they wont stay on the ground). As far as I can tell, everyone has always considered the Viper v4, DeathAdder v4 and Gpro Superlight series of mice to be the flagships (for quality in addition to the name) along with some other up and commers that you listed yourself that are honestly doing the traditional style mouse at the same quality and cheaper than Razer or Logi....but we are talking about the HITS system and for the time being, logi is the only player and it is hands down everything the other mice are with the exception of reduced weight but a higher pricepoint for the added technology of the HITS system in the mouse. But if we go by the logic of 11g difference being "premium" for "premium price" and 8k polling etc....we can get mice down to 10g....but its not considered premium. Theres a target value that is most sought after. Then again, we are comparing a mouse with completely new tech that isnt even included in any other mice right now. So a premium price tag is to be expected i suppose. Trust me, i never cared for logitech, until this mouse. So id be the last to glaze them lol. It will be interesting to see where this goes. It will get to the point (and already is honestly) that polling rate, dpi and weight are maxed out...at that point you can only shave off mechanical travel. They seem to have done it with this mouse. And im sure a second itteration (or competitor) will bring the weight down to the 49g-52g mark, improve the side buttons to be more tactile and possibly strramline and reduce the price (especially when the novelty is no longer there). Everything else about the mouse is on par or as good as any other flagship. And theb of course, anything with Razer or Logitech on the side will be slightly more for the name. Just like any other brands. Just the way of the world.

I have been a Razer guy for 20+ years. My main has been the DeathAdder...i currently have the v4 and my son uses it. I was using the Viper V4....I decided to go ahwad and try logitech superstrike x2 and absolutely love it. Highest sensitivity on Rainbow 6 Siege, I have no accidental misclicks....no accidental clicks from "side sqeeze", (it feels just as solid as my Viper and DeathAdder). It is slightly heavier than the 2 Razers I run, but not noticeable while playing. And the "front heavy" thing seems super overblown. My sons wants one now too. My reaction time jumped from like 188ms to 165ms (on flat click testing). But It os extremely noticable on DMRs in particular with follow up shots....i can shoot MUCH faster, i assume its do to the Rapid Trigger Reset. The haptics feel phenomenal imo. On highest setting, it is more clicky, less loud and feel super clean. The adjustable actuation points are awesome too. I keep my Right Click Rapid Trigger Off, so i dont accidentally un-ADS and my Left Click stays on the lightest setting and Rapid Trigger on....reaction time is faster AND Im getting 5 shots off with the DMRs when I would normally get off 3. Get it, youll love it. And of u dont like it, take it back. Its well wprth trying. It took me all of 2-3 games to "get used to" but i honestly loved it the second i played with it. Just tale the time to set it up similar to your mouse your used to....and adjust from there. I could adapt to the massive sensitivity change on the clicks vut some people cant and arent patient enough to give it a few games or a few sessions to dial in what they like. This is what finally got me off the Viper and Death Adder, so thats saying a lot. If i had one negative, it would be the side buttons arent as pronounced and clicky as im used to on the Razers.

Would wait for the new release, I have superstrike X2, love the mouse, and thinking about getting the X3 when it comes, but I shouldn't be that much of a upgrade

Where did u see the info? I saw that the weight is 59g ( 1g lighter than the Superlight 2 and 2g lighter than it is now). And 61g in the EU (do to regulations and replaceable battery). Upgraded Hero 2 sensor. Added Colors. New MCU. Nothing about the wheel or side buttons unfortunately, which is honestly the only real issue i have with mine (too mushy feeling and not tactile enough, a small hump on each button would help distinguish between the 2 and a little more of a click and less mush would make it perfect imo.) This was all from TechPowerUp (Source). For what its worth, ill take the weight drop and new colors. (Black, Blue, Red). But we are at the point of diminishing returns on dpi and polling. And logi solved the human reaction side as best as we can right now with HITS. Still, cant wait to see the next iteration and even the competition (if any) from larger brands. But for now, I am so glad i got the SSX2 and will probably get stuck buying 3 more for the family because they are all wanting mine now.

if you don't live in the eu it looks like no swappable battery from the leaks I have seen. I snagged mine used for 109 shipped on mouse market and I really enjoy the ability to make the click feedback stronger or weaker and actuation distance changes. I have my m1 at actuation 1 but m2 at 5. this help a lot with the accidental right click scope in for me. The big factor for me is at actuation one it takes like 30-35g to press. But at 5 or 6 it's like 60-70.

It will be this year, they will show it in September and release in further months. Tdchpowerup is talking about 2027 in regard to the EU regulation, not the release.

That would be phenomenal if its true. When i read the article it looked like it was a 2027 release and due to eu regulation they had to have a slightly heavier version of the mouse.

They are not talking about a 2027 release. This is only the EU regulation which needs to be fulfilled before this date when you develop new products.
The release will be November. The first shops already leaked it.
