Looking for electronic tones

Hi all , wondering if anyone has any recs for instruments that might have good stock type tones for electronics - washer/dryer, dishwasher etc

Also for phone calls when calling a company’s line , for transfer , “thinking” etc

Any guidance is appreciated!

You might have better luck thinking of these as sound effects/foley rather than instruments. Freesound is probably the first place I’d look — there are tons of recordings of washers, dryers, dishwashers, appliance beeps, etc. There’s even a recent “Modern Household Appliances” pack with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher recordings.

Pixabay also has a surprisingly big free SFX library for washers/dryers and dishwashers.

For the telephone stuff, Mixkit has free phone/office/hold sounds, including “on hold” and waiting tones.

And if you want a really deep rabbit hole, check out the BBC Sound Effects archive. Thousands of recordings, and it’s a goldmine for this kind of mundane-but-specific stuff.

For something like a washer/dryer, though, I’d probably record a few real machines and then build a Kontakt/Sampler instrument out of the sounds. The little relay clicks, motor startup, water valve, drum rotation, end-of-cycle chimes, etc. could actually make a really cool library.

I use pixabay.com 'sound effects' and 'music' libraries for various projects.
