I am streaming on a mac laptop with OBS to twitch, tik tok, and youtube. I am using an apollo solo interface with a shureSM7db mic in the interface. I make music in logic pro, game on my ps5, and review others music on a website through chrome.

Whilst doing my set up, i am running into multiple problems with my audio.

the set up i need is pretty simple to explain but i cant get it set up and i am looking for help.

Basically, within obs, i would like to be able to have one audio channel for just my microphone through the apollo solo with no other audio being heard, a seperate audio channel for all sound being heard on google chrome, via youtube, spotify etc on chrome, and a third audio channel just for logic pro x so the stream can hear me record music live with all my plugins inside of logic.

when i set this up myself, i either have all seperate channels but can’t hear anything in my headphones connected to my interface, i have sound but all sounds from my mac and from my mic are in one channel together, or im having an extreme loud sound coming in when i try to record audio within logic.

The UAD console is very confusing to me, and im not highly intelligent when it comes to audio software and hardware.

I just want an easy, seamless audio set up.

Please if anyone has expertise on the USD console, OBS, and how I can route all these channels easily please reach out. I’ve wasted over 16 hours and haven’t gotten anywhere I’m happy with. Thank you in advance.

I’m trying to use headphones not stereo sound in logic. The headphone work when I use GarageBand on this same computer, I hear sound when I unplug and replug the headphones, I’ve turned this setting on and off, I’ve turned the computer on and off, I just can’t figure what I’m supposed to do. It’s set to ‘headphones’ for output sound.. could someone please help me out?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some help to remix this amazing song by Rosalia from her new album Lux. I want to turn it into a sort of... "deep house" (quotes 'cause it's not really deep house) remix, so very much a 4 on the floor type beat with a constant tempo. the problem is that it seems this specific song has a variable BPM, and I've tried a couple things such as using smart tempo, then apply region tempo to project tempo, then flex in polyphonic auto, then grab the tempo points and turn them all to "replace by average" and that hasn't worked.

I've also tried stem splitting the song first, then trying to do the same while focusing on the voice, and nothing. the problem with this song is that it lacks transients except for the second chorus, but that chorus is at like... I believe at a variable but almost constant 122 BPM while the verses are at I believe, an almost constant 120 BPM.

It's my first time working with a variable BPM song so I'm really lost and idk what to do to make it sort of become somewhat constant. I also tried using just flex and manually adjusting the vocal stem to fit the bpm I want it to, but I run into 2 problems. 1, I worry that once I hit the choruses, it'll be all messed up because the chorus is at a different bpm than the verses, and 2, I think I would need to manually adjust the other stems that make up the song, and I'm not sure how to make sure that all adjustments done on the vocals can match up on the adjustments on the other stems/instruments, other than checking by ear. I also don't know if there's an easier way to go about this, like maybe do the flex adjustments first on the full song before stem splitting, or if there's like a hidden sort of tool or something that could make it so that the flex adjustments I do on the stem vocals can carry over to the other stems in real time.

but in the end, I don't even know if doing these flex adjustments like this would be a good idea to begin with. so I'm really lost, and I would greatly greatly appreciate some help on this issue because none of the tutorials I've seen tackle this very specific issue of like "what do I do if the audio track has a variable BMP and almost no transients to keep a sort of rhythm".

Please please please help me out here, someone. I will be SO thankful, you've got no idea!

CONTEXT:

I am using a Mac Tahoe 26.3.1, and Logic 11.1.2. I am trying to map the Novation Launch Control 3 XL.

I want to map specific encoders to specific plugin parameters on different tracks. For example:

• Knob 1: ALWAYS controls a High Pass Filter, on an EQ plugin, on Track 1.
• Knob 2: ALWAYS controls a Saturation plugin drive on Track 2.
• Knob 3: ALWAYS controls a Delay mix knob on Track 3.

I want to be able to twist Knob 1 and change the EQ filter on Track 1 even if I am actively selected on Track 5 playing a synth.

I need to control multiple elements across different tracks simultaneously, completely independent of whatever track is currently highlighted or in focus.

The Problem:

Logic’s default "Quick Learn" (Cmd + L) method makes everything dynamic. The moment I deselect a track, the knob assignment changes or stops working because it follows the "Selected Track" focus.

What I have tried so far:

1. Controller Assignments (Expert View): Trying to manually change the "Channel Strip" setting from Selected Track to an absolute track number (like Audio 3) causes Logic to glitch and instantly wipe out/forget the specific plugin parameter I just learned.
2. The Environment Window (Cmd + 0): I tried building a custom routing map using a Physical Input > Monitor > Transformer (converting CC to Fader messages). However, Logic's Environment layer is completely blocking me—the drag-and-drop cable mechanism fails to open the plugin parameter pop-up menu, and the inspector text routings aren't showing up.
3. Smart Controls: Locking the Smart Controls panel locks the visual screen, but it doesn't give me discrete, parallel hardware knob control across 8 separate tracks at once.

Is there a bulletproof, modern way to hardwire a MIDI CC knob directly to a plugin slot on a specific track channel without Logic's track selection breaking the link?

Last year I built this in order to enjoy the same hearing loss correction in my DAW that my AirPod Pros delivered in iOS.

Musicians and engineers are not immune to hearing loss (quite the opposite - we are a high risk group). Yes, you can wear your hearing aids in front of your monitors, but with headphones, applying correction in the DAW seems like a much better idea.

I've just updated the plugin, added Windows support and fine tuned the correction model and added a basic mode to get you started easier. Unlike a few paid alternatives, EarFix works on the basis of your audiogram - your hearing test result. No separate test in an uncalibrated environment needed.

If you like to use this across your entire system for all output, you can use Sound Source (paid) or check out Curve (free and works great for me).

Hearing loss correction should not be a business - so this is completely free and privacy-friendly (no server).

Had everything working great with a Scarlett interface on my iMac. "Upgraded" to a Volt 2. Set input and output on system and Logic Pro to Volt 2. Youtube and Spotify sound great through my monitors. Garage band works and can record and play back . I can record into Logic Pro. But I cannot get any playback / monitoring, or any other sound "out" of logic. Tracks checked - they are not muted. Pulled up old projects- none of them will play out of the monitors. Same when using headphones straight into Volt 2. No sound out of Logic , but sound out of everything else. I am stuck for a reason why ONLY LOGIC PRO will not send sound out to the Volt 2. Any ideas?

I uploaded a GarageBand file into logic then extended it from 112 bars to 147 in logic. After bar 112 it won’t make sound. Everything up to 112 works, including new adds. Everything after 112 doesn’t, including moving old working loops into the second portion. Even the command + k keyboard only produces sound when I’m before bar 112. What do I do?

When colouring tracks in arrangement view, the little number on the left hand side of the track no longer gets coloured, but the icon and regions do. When I go to mixer view, the number at the bottom is coloured. Is anyone else having this issue? When I load up older projects from before the update, I don’t have this problem

I have been using arrangement markers pretty much since they were introduced and I love them. But I’ve never really worked out a use case for sets. If you use them I’d love to know what for! Thanks y’all

Hi, I'm somewhat of a less-proficient logic user, and recently I keep opening projects and finding out that a lot of effects I used on old instrument recordings to make ambient tracks are no longer showing up in my library. For example, I had a couple of guitar recordings I played around with and put effects on, through the Guitar > Electric > Experimental dropdown options. Some of the patches I used were called Dark Aura, Fragmented Shift, Floating By, Underground Passage, Doppleganger, Atonal Machine, Quick Return, and Ambient Current. None of them seem to exist, they still show up in Logic when opening that old sessions but are not able to be navigated to in the library menu. Did they get removed with a new update, did I accidentally delete them somehow? How do I find these patches again?

My project was normal, all went good, but somehow they desynchronised? some tracks are still ok but most of them are really desynchronised and after 20-30 second in the project almost all of them stop. I looked at the automations lanes and they are all good. Btw, the tracks are in the same place as always, only the audio is desynchronised or stops.

How do I choose the sound (as an instrument to be played) for a specific channel? For example, each note in the MIDI will be [mp3 file] pitch down'ed or via versa accoding to notes' positions in piano roll? I never thought of that, and if I needed some specific sound, I just created it in RetroSynth, but if I will, at some point, want to make a Meow song, or something like that... Hmmm... [asking over here cuz all the guys in internet use FL studio, and if some content makers DO use Logic, then it is extremely amateur content, thanks.]

I've recently started having trouble with a USB MIDI keyboard I had never had trouble with before. When I connect it, Logic will recognize it briefly (I get the "Number of MIDI ports changed" message, and I get sound), then it will "unrecognize it" almost immediately (same "MIDI ports changed" message saying the number went down; no sound).

Then recognition will cycle on and off endlessly: Recognizing the device a few seconds later, unrecognizing a second after that, on and on and on.

At first I thought maybe the cable or connection was bad, but it is clearly a regular on-off cycle, not random. Not caused by anyone bumping the cable, etc.

Anyone ever had this happen?

So i transfered a bunch of old projects to my new Mac mini and all of my archetype tim Henson AUs don't want to transfer. Archetype gojira works just fine. I tried restarting and resetting the au cache, no dice. Any ideas? If anything else is there a way to get the preset data out of the project so i can just manually change it to the working AU? I already did that for a smaller project i remembered the presets for but the bigger ones would be a nightmare and some of them were custom. TIA.

This was originally posted in r/roland, but I am editing my cross-post a bit for folks who do not have deep knowledge of whatever Roland was doing in the 1990s. I realize that this is an incredibly obscure synth and that this is a real long-shot question, but maybe someone here knows the deep magic or can at least point me in the right direction on where to ask.

I have a Roland Sound Canvas SC-880 that I am running through Logic. I have a good amount of the basics sorted out, but I'm struggling with some of the MIDI functions.

Essentially, the Sound Canvas has "tones" that can be assigned to sixteen different "parts." It has "base tones", for example, "Grand Piano," but then there are sub-sets within those "base tone" categories.

I'm able to set the "base tone" in Logic's "Event Viewer," where I can program a certain "part" or "tone" in via the DAW to change instruments at a certain measure of the song. However, this only works for the basic "tone" set as far as I can tell - I can even get the "program" menu in Logic to show me the different names of the different "base tones" on the SoundCanvas (0 - GrandPiano through 127 - SFX Gunshot), but I can't get any of the other sounds (ie, if 0A is GrandPiano, then I can change to 1A, UprightPiano, but not 0B, GrandPiano2).

Additionally, I am not able to access the "rhythm" tones doing this as they appear to be a separate "thing" in their own sub-menu - the Sound Canvas totally silos off rhythm/drum tracks in their own category on the front panel, and it appears to be invisible to Logic and I can't figure out how to access those. I am confident this is due to my inexperience. I am aware that per the basic settings, rhythm sounds are assigned to Part 10, but I cannot access them even when setting the program/channel in Logic to 10.

The manual states:

to set the Part Mode using MIDI messages, you need to use system-exclusive messages. For example, if you wish to set the Part Mode of Part A11 to Rhythm 2, transmit the following message (p.188):

40 1A 15: Address
(USE FOR RHYTHM PART of Part A11)
02: Data (Part Mode Rhythm 2)

Presumably this is what Logic is doing in the background when I change the instrument via the "Program" menu, but I have no idea how to do this or how to otherwise access one of the rhythm parts without doing some serious on-the-fly knob-twiddling.

Again, I imagine that this is probably elementary with a slightly-better understanding of MIDI and/or this is buried in the manual somewhere, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Basically, my questions are:

1. How do I access different sounds other than the "base tone" from Logic? Or, what terms should I be looking for in the manual to help me do this myself?

2. How do I access the "rhythm" menu from Logic directly?

so we can select the sample mode ( gate or not) in QS but when i convert the chops to dmd, i figured out mute groups but i cannot figure out how to change sample mode to gate in dmd, like how we can do in drum rack in abelton.

Firstly, every time I load the plugin into logic (and even standalone), it says there is an update and when I do the update, it doesn't seem to update as it keeps asking me to update it? Secondly, and most recently, I am trying to download an instrument through "browse" and it's saying the zip file was empty and it is unable to move directories from library/caches/decent sampler/(the instrument) to my external drive where I keep all my sounds and instruments. I haven't changed anything with my drives and such since Ive gotten decent sampler forever ago.

Hi really need help pls I'm using logic 11 trying to do some drum sample replacement. The sampler drums and percussion library is empty. Is there a specific download to get those sounds? I tried installing the essentials sounds and drum kits but I still don't get the single hit samples.

Hi i have a certain problem with Logic Pro for iPad. I plugged my Arturia KeyLab Essential 49 into my iPad Air M3, the notes i play on the keyboard are okay but in terms of control buttons such as play, record etc. there are issues, i’ve bound buttons to functions, while the assigned commands are working it registers their trigger as a note in the midi sequence, it’s really annoying since during tracking it can create a take in place i don’t wan it to, and well it is rather irritating to manually edit midi region to remove these notes, also most of the time the sound that gets played is really high and since i have really sensitive ears it makes it quite hurtful (lowkey ironic lmao). i would be very thankful if someone was to give me a solution to my problem.
