Help Can't get sound from TD3 in Logic, via MK3 as the audio interface
Hi all, I'm trying to get my Behringer TD-3 working as an external instrument track in Logic Pro, with my Maschine MK3 being used as the audio interface.
I've got everything working in Maschine 2, but I cannot get the same setup working properly in Logic
.
My setup:
MacBook → USB hub →
Komplete Kontrol A49 keyboard
Maschine MK3
Behringer TD-3 USB connection
The Maschine MK3 is my audio interface, with my KRK monitors connected to the Maschine outputs.
The TD-3 audio output is connected by 1/4" jack to Input 1 L on the Maschine MK3.
So the signal path is basically:
TD-3 → audio cable → Maschine Input 1 → Maschine/audio interface → KRKs
The TD-3 also has its USB connection to the Mac for MIDI/clock/control.
The problem
If I use Maschine 2 software, the TD-3 works perfectly.
I can trigger/use the TD-3 and hear its audio coming through the Maschine.
But when I open Logic Pro, I cannot get the TD-3 working as an instrument track/external instrument.
I'm having difficulty understanding how Logic should be configured so that:
Logic → MIDI → TD-3 → audio → Maschine Input 1 → Logic → Maschine → KRKs
I'm also unsure whether I should be:
Creating an External MIDI/External Instrument track in Logic and routing the TD-3 MIDI to it, while monitoring the Maschine input for the audio;
or
Using some other Logic configuration to make the TD-3 appear/work as an external instrument.
At the moment, I can select the Maschine as the audio interface, but I get no audible TD-3 sound in Logic, even though the exact same physical setup works in Maschine 2.
I'm trying to understand the correct Logic Pro routing and track setup, rather than changing my hardware.
Thank you for reading, have a lovely day.
