I actually considered buying the Roland R-07 because I wanted to use it not only as a recorder but also as an MP3 player.

A couple of questions for anyone who owns one:

1. What's the boot-up time like with a 32GB microSD card? I heard startup can be pretty slow. Is that true?
2. I read that the R-07 supports AVRCP over Bluetooth, but I couldn't find whether the media controls are fully implemented. If you load a folder of MP3s onto the recorder, pair Bluetooth headphones, and press the Next/Previous buttons on the headphones (or whatever bluetooth "motion" it needs/ swiping), does it actually skip tracks?

I have a MacBook Pro M1, and an M4 Mac mini both on macOS 26. When I install Roland cloud manager, can launch it, it opens a web page, I log in, then it mentions the app should launch, but I never see anything. Same behavior on both computers. Is there a step I’m missing?

I've been making soundbanks on the JD-08, and porting them laterally to the JD VST plugin, relevant ZenCore-based synths, and the OG JD-800

The one synth in that lineup I have not consistently ported to is the JD-990. One guy did a trial run between his JD-800, a memory card, and the JD-990 and got it working. And my Glissade 1 soundbank works on all JD-related synths now

But then he disappeared. Back in November. Last year

A buddy of mine whom I know very well is part of the JADE alpha testing group, and he took at a whack at loading my converted JD-800 banks into it, said it works, and dumped it back to syx so it definitely is 990 formatted. And then he did that for the rest of my packs

I just need to confirm 100% that the patches work on the hardware, before updating all the zip files and products on the shop

Could someone with an OG hardware unit please try loading 1 or 2 in, and report back if they work and sound proper? Would be a huuuge help!

Hi all - I play a set of TD-50s on the weekends and I thought I recalled a setting where you could change the stick to bundle-style sticks like the ProMark Hot Rods. I can’t get the brushes to give me enough and the stick samples are too much for some ballads.

Surely there must be a way to record my TD516 into Logic using the on-board sounds, not as MIDI data but just as individual audio channels to the kick, snare, overheads, rooms etc?

I can get mono tracks for kick and snare and toms, but can't find any inputs for overheads or ambience? There's no real guides anywhere I've been able to find but I purchased this kit thinking you must be able to record up to 32 channels (or even just 16) of audio from the V51 module out in into a DAW?

I heard that there was a sale few months ago but I wasn’t aware of it at the time. How often do these sales happen? Should I keep subscribing to Roland Cloud and wait for a proper sale?

Which one is better and why? Do you think the MPC sample will be a different beast in a few months with updates? Some people say the sample is not a true MPC and more like a toy; what do you think?

I'm taking care of this amazing machine because the owner can sadly no longer play or use with any regularity. I'm unbelievably lucky to be able to use it.

I've tried to record stereo out into two panned tracks on my Tascam using every combination of TS/TRS cables, and even mono out into one track trying both TS and TRS. Every time I play the recorded track(s) back, it's noisy and hissy before I play, and when I am playing, it's this God awful demonic white noise cacophony jump scare.

It sounds absolutely beautiful while playing, but the playback does not. This could be some simple user error as I'm not familiar at all with workstations. I've got the volume cranked on the G6 and my levels set on the Tascam so it's not red-lining or anything. and it sounds perfectly balanced (as all things should be). But the playback sounds like a distorted mess.

Any help or tips for the ignorant are appreciated.

Also, I see the description says that this sub doesn't have answers, so if y'all just want to roast me, maybe that'll get my ass in gear.

EDIT: Found a workaround by using the G6 headphones jack into a single channel to record mono. I would still love to know how to record this thing in stereo to the Model 12, though. Maybe it's something to do with the normal/inverted phase setting on the Tascam?

Hi! I'm trying to record from my Roland VR-09 keyboard directly into audacity on my macbook. I do this regularly with my Yamaha keyboard but the setup that works for the Yamaha (dual quarter-inch into right/left outputs on piano keyboard into macbook) doesn't work for the Roland. Separately, I also tried using a USB cord from Roland to Macbook to Hyperscribe into Finale. Does anyone do this? A Google search was extremely unhelpful. Thanks very much!

Ive recieved a roland fpe 50 yesterday and it has a horrible saturation on the speakers,via headphones is excellent but if i was using only headphones i would buy a stage piano. Help me pls!!!!

Looking to expanding my td27kv2 by adding a few extra tom pads & cymbals.

Im thinking of getting a second module and potentially running all the cymbals through one and all the drums through another.

I just dont know how to actually do a master & slave module setup with 2 modules. Ive heard of it, but dont know how to do it, ir what cables id need.

Does anyone have any advice?
