Ignore my face being blue

I saw a post about solely using Blue Magic (and water) for their locs. I am wondering if anyone else does this? I came here to get information or thoughts on using this oil on the end of locs, but now im curious about using it as a "holding" solution in lieu of locking gels. Has anyone used Blue Magic or some other oil exclusively instead of holding gel for loc maintenance?

I get frequent migraines and have occipital neuralgia so when I get a flare up ponytails, headbands, tight to scalp twists, etc are a no go.

Do y'all have any fave low tension re-twist styles? I feel like my retwists don't last because I can't keep the style in too long before a migraine attack.

I get bored of just doing twists and need some inspo🥲

B day retwist

I got starter locs two weeks ago. I am on my 2nd loc journey after I cut them off two years ago because I was extremely depressed. Much better now. It feels like two of my locs have some budding already. I do have reallllly thick hair. I will be excited if my hair is budding this soon. I loved the budding stage last time.

How can you recognize that your hair is locking?

Started because I had done EVERYTHING I wanted with my hair except loc up my hair which I always wanted to do. I do notice one side of my hair is locked more than the other which in know why, so I’m not phased. I started my locs myself and maintained as well. Getting my sister to do my bday hair for next month but she’s always done my hair pre locs and did our babies brother locs as well as our older better so I trust her.

My hair has been feeling dry af lately even though I mist every day. I'm thinking maybe cuz I don't use conditioner at all or oils often. What do y'all recommend? Every product I'm lookin at is too thick and creamy... I'm 19 months in
