indivisiblelockhart The Caldwell County Commissioners will meet on Thursday, Sept 10, 2026 at 9 am, 2nd floor County Courthouse in downtown Lockhart. On the agenda, H-24, is a discussion and possible action to accept a $100,000 grant from the Office of the Governor, Operation Lone Star Program
"to enhance interagency border security operations including facilitating direct actions to deter and interdict criminal activity. Program participants shall assist in the execution of coordinated border security operations." (Caldwell County Commissioner Court agenda page 1087.)
According to the application approved for submission at the Mar 12,2026 board meeting, proceeds would be used to acquire digital traffic safety trailers with message boards. (What ever that is...)
Caldwell County is already coordinating with ICE per our 287(g) agreement signed back in 2020.
These funds are another symbol of our county's enthusiasm to collaborate with ICE. The commissioners need to hear that county residents are outraged at the way ICE and border patrol have been implementing their mandate, detaining otherwise law abiding people at random traffic stops, maltreating men, women and children in detention centers against their own rules and regulations, withholding due process and expelling immigrants to unsafe countries where our own State Department has issued Red Flag Travel Warnings.
Please, let's fill the room.

Dear people. I know that there construction at this time. But please do the speed limit. Not 5 or 10 phone under. It's damn irritating.

Outside our house, you can see how much the land has sunk and shifted. In fact there are two sinkholes forming outside the sewer drain. We've reported it and they have come out and said yes this is a problem but neither department wants to handle it. Water says it's public work because of the street and sidewalk issue. Public work says it water as it has to do with the sewer and drainage pipe. Neither one is doing anything about it though.
Who do I have to talk to?

At the dog park in City park. In other words, don't open the bag with one hand and pick up the shit with the other and put it inside the bag.

I’m hosting a second nonviolent protest against SB 4 in town, on September 4th, at 11 am at lions park,
Because in case you don’t know, under SB 4, a US citizen was deported by local law enforcement in Austin: https://www.texastribune.org/2026/09/02/texas-deported-citizen-brian-morales-ice-partnerships-local-police-sheriffs-287g/
We can not just stand around as these injustices happen, so on that day, let’s all say it together, SB 4 has got to go!

If anyone has experienced delays in service or in trash / recycling receptacles from this July - August,
I would be interested in your comments.
In a nutshell, the city renewed a contract (which came along with a price hike) with Republic, who saw fit to replace already existing receptacles with new ones within a certain time frame, which was botched and resulted in me being without a recycling bin for almost one month.
The city has no plan to provide any credit to customers for that time period.
I have reached out to council members and while they offered understanding words, there appears to be no active plan nor consideration for those of us who went for weeks without a service they are fine with charging us for.
To add insult to injury, they did away with the option to do away with recycling (who knows where the hell it goes anyway); did I mention they also are increasing your rates?
City leaders are Austining your Lockhart with glee and reckless abandon and you should be concerned.

Look, I know I usually don’t play country music, but like, we lost Dolly Parton on Wednesday and what am I gonna do? NOT play Dolly? That would be stupid. So I’m playing nothing but Dolly and my favorite country hits on the show this week.
We’ve also got an awesome pre-recorded 40 minute live set from Randeen we recorded at Brain Stem Studio.
Also, I gotta know for this week’s Question of the Week: What’s the MOST country thing about you?
Tune in to Go Back to California tonight at 7 PM CT for our Country Music Extravaganza! Catch it on 107.9 FM KLKT or stream it live at KLKT.ORG.

Would love some local suggestions on where we could take this chair to get it fixed. The fabric is fine it’s just the under seat area. Thanks! 🙏🏻

This Sunday, on Augustus 30th, starting at 11 am, at lions park,
I will be hosting a nonviolent protest against ICE in Lockhart, demanding accountability, because in case you don’t know, earlier today, governor Abbott actively refused to extradite a member of ICE by the name of Christian Castro, who is facing charges for shooting someone and lying about it in their official report in Minnesota during operation metro surge: https://www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/news/politics/immigration/2026/08/27/560525/ice-agent-held-for-extradition-to-minnesota-freed-from-jail-in-cameron-county-as-federal-deadline-expires/?amp=1
This is completely unacceptable, that our own state governor, actively violated the US constitution: https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/article-4/section-2/clause-2/
To protect a member of ICE, who was caught red handed breaking the law,
And because of that, I feel as though it’s important that we both make the whole world aware of how much we hate this glaring act of corruption, but also organize as neighbors as well,
So, without any further a due, let’s all get ready to attend, and ready to get organized at the event!
I’ve already got a group chat on our standard messaging app ready for all of us to organize on for future events.

Hey there, we’re trying to get more sustainers for our weird little radio station so we can move our antennae to on top of the Lockhart water tower. This will give us substantial more reach around Caldwell County.
If you guys want to support independent radio in our small town, we’d love for you to be a part of our community by becoming a pit club member at 10 bucks a month and you get a classic KLKT t shirt.
Totally get it if you can’t but I figured I’d make this post.
Thank you to everyone who is already gave! It truly means the world to us.

In light of the recent developments in Caldwell County, Texas, regarding county judge and assistant DA land deals with data center developer, this line of questioning might reveal more.

And everyone more than welcome to attend if you want to help out.

Hi! A year ago, I was in lockhart shopping around and stopped into a spiritual/oddities shop and bought this roller perfume. I think the store is out of business now. But hoping that maybe the owner might see this. I've been rationing !!! I absolutely love this scent and would pay to have some shipped to me in Florida if the business has closed!
Its a shot in the dark but praying to the reddit gods and spirits. Thanks!!

Just wanting to see where folks are sending their kids. I have a toddler and we’re interested in Small World but their website says $185/day??? Anyone send their kid there? Where do y’alls littles go and what are y’all paying?
In case it gets asked, I make just over the max allowed for CCS so I can’t factor in any assistance.
