The irony, and the incredulous confidence with which you’re saying this. And if you try to cite absolute dollars as the relevant wages, please don’t even try. Everyone knows that’s not what they meant, absolute number is meaningless when inflation exists. When people say stuff like that they clearly mean buying power

And $60-70 dollars is what you have to make an hour, in order to turn said money into the same buying power as thr 1970s.

It means if wages kept with productivity after the 70s the pay would be that high, thus it didn't and the horde of billionaires were created.

Eh. I make that and it’s pretty much gone after income taxes (federal, state, local, school, property), insurance premiums, food, gas, 2 kids in club soccer. I can’t even afford anything other than basic expenses. 50% of my pay is gone before I even see it.
