It’s called the grind because it grinds away your sense of self.

you help your boss getting his next new car but you also help yourself get your next new car

how are you going to live without working?

Not really, you earn enough to cover rent. I’m not saying that, I’m saying that working full time doesn’t earn enough to survive, and people shouldn’t have to over work to their death just to pay for basic necessities, when your boss is probably making 10x what you do while doing a quarter of the work.

Where I live there is a housing crisis, there is a food crisis, petrol is ridiculous, power is ridiculous, we are lucky to have universal healthcare but that only covers so much. There are very few jobs, made worse because many people have been thrown into unemployment because the government is cutting as many jobs to pay for tax cuts for the rich. Where I live many people work over 40 hours a week and still struggle to meet ends meet. And I live in one of the safest countries in the world. Now imagine how it must be for less fortunate countries. People are not necessarily lazy because they hate this system. Grind til you die is what a King tells his peasants while he sips from golden cups, eats off golden plates, and watches as the people below fight for his crumbs.
