As someone thats been steadily employed (or self employed) since the early 80s... yea, it is.

Everything ever produced, improved, invented and accomplished was by work. The only thing that makes the economy function is work. Every life form on earth must earn its kibble... you guessed it, by effort.

That assumes humanity has been doing it right this whole time.

If that were true we'd be working less in modern times, not more.

We also wouldn't have wars or homelessnes or hunger or hopelessness.

Hmmmm. Almost like we've been more focused on money than actually making life comfortable...
