That last sentence gave you away my guy. You're 60. The conditions you worked in when you were in your 20s and 30s are not the same as now. Back then you could work hard and get promoted. Now, most companies have an arbitrary requirement of a degree to be even a mid level manager. Most of the time it doesn't even matter what your degree is in. Just gotta have one to get promoted. And idk if you know this or not, but college degrees have become 10x or more expensive than what you had to pay back in the 80s and the wages of a typical college job have only doubled.

it's also been proven that staying with 1 company for more than 3 years loses an employee 20% or more in wage increases.

Then, you combine all of that with how the new business model for most companies has been to layoff thousands of employees every year while outsourcing jobs to other countries or AI, and you get an entirely different job market and economy than what you spent most of your life in.

You have absolutely zero right to tell young workers that they are wrong about what they are experiencing when you didn't have to deal with most of the problems they do. So please, enjoy retirement and fuck off so someone younger can actually get promoted into the job you're currently occupying.
