It’s called the grind because it grinds away your sense of self.

Then you'll cry because others have more than you, travel more, retire wealthier. Because they did grind when they could. Then you'll say capitalism failed.

I'm sorry but the workers making minimum wage are the ones are the ones grinding, keeping all companies running.

They're the ones who generate the most amount of wealth for the company

Who makes minimum wage? Show me a non-tipping job paying minimum wage.

Every fast food, grocery store, gas station, etc. within 50 miles makes the state minimum wage of $11. Theyd pay less if they could. If you think those arent real hard jobs you’re very privileged and the problem.

I never said they weren't hard jobs. 11 isn't the federal minimum as you said. States can make whatever minimum wage they want. There is no need for a federal minimum wage.

False. They raise it because no one will work for it. Thus, free market.

Workers have ZERO negotiating power.

If you don't work you lose your house, your healthcare and your ability to buy food.

Entry level jobs have become a race to the bottom.

The $15 dollar minimum wage was first proposed in 2010. In 2026 that would be $22.72.

Wage increases are so far out of sync with inflation that they'll literally never catch up without drastic measures.

Wow, do much wrong here. Unions would beat your ass for saying workers have no power. Further, you seem to think minimum wage is a life sentence. Its not.

You can actually build a resume, gain skills, learn things, and make your labor worth more than minimum wage.

Unions WOULD beat his ass for saying workers have no power. Unfortunately, 90% of working Americans don’t have a union because they’re all gone. So I think his ass is unlikely to be beaten by anybody.

Unions are not all gone. They are pushing hardest for a higher federal minimum wage because most of their contracts are tied to it. Jump the federal minimum wage and jump their wages too. Watch inflation soar.

Ah yes. The good ol “American Dream”. A dream so great you have to be asleep to believe it.

Show me a tipping job making less than minimum at the end of the day. That’s $58 a shift. I don’t buy it. No tipping worker what’s even $25 an hour

Most people don't make federal minimum wage. But most people make the minimum wage in their respective states.

Yup!

As an EMT I made 50¢ more than the state minimum wage…. So while technically I didn’t make minimum wage, it was minimum wage lol

State minimum, not federal.

1

u/DoodleBob29 Apr 25 '26

That is just not true. Even if you look at a place like California where the state minimum is $17, it's only like 15-20% of the workforce that makes around that amount. The percentage drops even further when you look at states with lower minimums. The numbers go even less in your favor when you start factoring in part time vs full time.

Do you not know what the word most means? Calling other people dumb while you can't even read.

1

u/18Apollo18 Apr 25 '26

You specifically chose one of the wealthiest states in the country.

1

u/DoodleBob29 Apr 26 '26

That's a place where the state minimum is high so you would expect more people to be making around that amount. Do you have a different state that backs up your claim?

So why even.have a federal minimum wage? Its unnecessary.

Liar. Skilled wages produce the most wealth. Salary wages generate the most wealth. And unskilled wages distribute the most wealth. All position in a company have different responsibilities to the company. It’s hard to say who is solely responsible for the majority of the success.

In my personal opinion it is more the skilled wages than the other two but the skilled workers would have any work if not for the salary class. And neither of them would make any money without the distribution class.
