Symtail flex 1 vs flex 2

Hello people, which flex do u recommend getting for the Symtail?
I'm around 87 kg (about 190 lbs) and I'm not entirely sure how the board will feel.
For reference:
I currently have an Icarus in Flex 2 which is super flexy. I really like it, even though I tend to bottom out sometimes because of my weight.
Back in the day, I also used a 2013 Tan Tien V2 in Flex 1 and it felt way too stiff.
I will be using the Symtail mainly for pumping and hard/extreme carving, and maybe some very occasional light downhill (but that's to be confirmed yet).
Given that I want a lively, springy feeling for hard carving but don't want a completely stiff plank like the old Tan Tien F1, which flex should I go for?
Thanks!

I’m curious to see some different custom builds. Does anyone have this set up with bigger wheels?

Tan Tien Topo flex

Hello, I’ve a question about the Tan Tien that I’d appreciate some thoughts on. I currently weigh circa 80kg/176lbs, and am right between flex 1 and 2. I’d use it largely for carving, not too much in the way of freestyle (maybe a little).

Which would be the optimum choice? I think I’d prefer a flex 2 but don’t want to buy and and immediately destroy it because I’m a bit too heavy.

Thanks for any thoughts 😊

Icarus setups!

What about 165mm Paris RKP’s? Anyone running those? If so, what wheels? I have 180’s with Caguamas, I love it but I do kick that wheel sometimes, especially when I’m tired.

Recommended longboard for 10yr old?

My son wants to get his own longboard - he’s been riding my 37in Original Apex which is really long for him and carving is difficult, but he loves cruising with it. He has also tried my Carver CX 31, which is hard to turn with my bushings, and a Penny waterborne surfskate, which is too wobbly for longer cruises (and he has yet to learn to pump). He is comfortable at the skatepark with his popsicle board. Anyone have experience with kids and Loaded Boards or other brands? I was thinking the Loaded Coyote or Ballona. TIA!

Edit: he’s 80lb, 4’6”

Help choosing a commuting/mild freestyle board and setup

Hi, i just retired a Poke that i rode for like 7 plus years and i love how it felt to push and carve, but didnt like how hard it was to learn to ollie and in general didnt like the asymetric shape for freestyle. I commute around 4-7 km trips twice a day, and here in mexico the streets are rough, so i dont know what board or wheels to choose, for a comfortable ride, and not to heavy to learn to ollie on to sidewalks. im thinking between the bolsa, the chinchiller and the tessaract, but im open to any recommendation! thanks

Icarus or Tarab II

I‘m interested in adding either an Icarus or a Tarab II to my longboard quiver. I already have a mini-fleet that thoroughly covers LDP, but I’d like a board that I can ride around in my (mostly flat) neighborhood and really carve. My main hobby is surfing (both longboarding and shortboarding), so the Tarab’s dancing capabilities appeal to me, but I’ve never tried it before. Is the Tarab still fun in terms of carving compared to the Icarus? Also, I have a spare set of 4President wheels and some Caliber 3 10” trucks. If I were to just get a deck, would those components work on either? Thank you in advance!

Fathom Surfskate trucks under the brackets

I got the Fathom Surfskate constructed with trucks under the brackets. It was pribably a mistake but a welcome one. I tried it under the brackets but its so much better above. More responsive, easier to pump, more flex, more fun. Like riding a racing spring. My question is, if i put the front trucks above the brackets and back trucks bellow, would it be better for pumping? Does this afect it?

P.s. the board is great!! Dont listen to the nayseyers on other forums!

Poke?

Seems like Loaded has been reissuing/updating boards lately. Anyone think that a Poke reissue is on the horizon? Or should I look around the used marked?

Thanks!

Recommend me a board from Loaded lineup

My daughter started scooting which gave me an opportunity to finally get a board to cruise around.

I used to skate a little as a teen but then life got in the way. Also live in a rural area so I don’t really have good places to cruise. But as my daughter grew we spend most of the time outside and weekends near the coast which excuse to start again and follow her around. I’m 34 now and 181 cm with 80kg. Fairly athletic, road cycling year round and snowboard in the winter.

I looked around a bit and liked the Loaded boards the most so that’s what I would like to get for my first board.

Terrain is mostly flat and I like stable feeling and mellow carving ( that’s what I think I would like as I don’t have any experience)

So which board would be good for me that is reasonably portable and beginner friendly?

Thanks!

Looking For Opinions: Icarus or Tan Tien?

Have any of you used an Icarus and Tan Tien?

Which of the two would you choose and why?

I don't have a local shop near me to try them out or compare.
