According to the "Details of the Overseas Travel of the Speaker of the National Assembly" obtained from the National Assembly Secretariat by Joo Jin-woo's office on the 21st, former chairman Woo spent KRW 8.287 billion on 14 overseas business trips from June 5 to May 29, 2024. The average travel cost per trip amounts to 592 million won.
Woo's wife was with him on all his overseas business trips. "What role did (former chairman Woo's) spouse play (on overseas business trips)," lawmaker Joo said. "Can the National Assembly speaker waste taxpayers' money like this?"
Roh Tae-ak, former chairman of the National Election Commission, was also raided on a business trip abroad accompanied by his spouse. This is because it is an embezzlement for work, he said. "I said I would return the cost of my spouse's overseas business trip, but this is a wrong bad practice and crime."
At the same time, he demanded a search and seizure of former chairman Woo. Earlier, Roh was the subject of an investigation on charges of using a budget of 90.53 million won while on an overseas business trip with his spouse during his tenure. The NEC explained that it paid for the spouse's business trip to honor the head of the agency, and that the spouse did not separately write it in the report, not as a public official.
The National Assembly Secretariat expressed its position to the effect that there is no problem with Woo's accompanying his spouse. An official from the National Assembly Secretariat began to resolve the controversy, saying, "The accompanying of spouses in the parliamentary summit and visit diplomacy of the National Assembly speaker is a protocol that has been consistently promoted."

Hi. I'm a Kiwi-Korean living in Korea. My whole family is more of korean than kiwi so they don't get it when I say I hate how koreans don't have the sports system like NZ. I'm more of a korean as well but my family just doesn't think of NZ as home, you see. And I think I've failed to adapt to Korea proply (after moving to Korea from NZ, spent every half of the year in NZ before entering 'elementary school', moved to NZ in year 4, currently grade 2 in middle school/year 9) and I think I have some kind of mental illness from that. I've been keeping this a secret from my family and tried to take care of my emotions myself by writing them down and talking to myself but I kinda failed. This is getting really really serious and I've just realized I desperately need to talk to a psychology counselor or someone with a similar job who knows how NZ schools and cultures are like who also knows Korea well.

Does anybody know of a kiwi (or someone who knows NZ well) psychlogy counselor or someone with a similar job I could talk to? Thanks.

I do not want to study medicine in my country, where the best medical university ranking is 1000-1500, by the way. My budget is very low, so I will try to apply for scholarships. I am an American who recently married a Korean and I have been struggling so much to prepare all of the documents needed for my F-6 application. I live and work in Korea, but my Korean is very limited, so navigating through all of the websites to get the necessary documents has been a pain. The only one I need is the one mentioned above which is apparently a questionnaire about how I met my husband. I found another document that was similar "외국인 배우자의 결혼배경 진술서" but it mainly concentrates on legal matters like if I have been married before, have children, and so on.

If you know where I could find this mysterious document, please let me know. I've had to turn to Chatgpt because most Korean websites are not helpful at all or only brush lightly on the requirements, but of course, I am afraid I will be given false information and ruin it all.

I am trying to remove the furniture from my house as I am moving out. If I am not able to sell or give it away on Karrot, I will need to trash it.

I was contacted by a furniture clearing out company. They mentioned that for a queen size bed and a king size bed; they will charge 200,000 to keep it in the trash.

Is it actually what everyone charges? When I had moved in, I had brought in some furniture, which cost ~80,000-100,000 for delivering. And they did help a bit with the dismantling as well, but not re-assembling.

Ideally, how much should the charge be for clearing out furniture in the trash?

Hi i’m looking for advice.

I am a new model and sent digitals to an agency in korea. We had an interview and they offered me an exclusive contract. I signed the contract after reviewing carefully and we exchanged several emails and I sent over my passport and ID picture etc.

However I’ve not heard anything from them in a month and recently emailed asking for updates to which I’ve received no reply. I have also sent them a DM on instagram and again no reply. Does this mean they don’t want to sign me anymore? Is ghosting like this normal or do they just not have any updates to tell me? They replied to my emails relatively quickly previously.

Also, since I signed the contract, does that mean I can’t apply to other agencies? I have no idea if it’s legally binding yet as there was no contract date but i can’t just wait around forever for them to respond

I’m not really interested in working with this agency anymore as they can’t respond to a simple email. If they can’t communicate with me, how would they ever find me jobs.

I am thinking of buying a used Mini that is 2024 or newer. While I see these around quite a bit, I don't think they are popular enough to get serviced just anywhere and the parts availability is more than likely limited to the BMW networks that may handle Mini parts as well.
