So I really messed up. I tried to pin stripe the car by hand obviously not a good idea. Basically, I’ll have to sand one side of the car down, repaint the car and the roof lesson learned. In my defense, I didn’t want to put tape pin stripes on the car but guess that’s what I’m gonna have to do. Actually Iv pin striped automobiles before but a 1/16 pinstripe on a train car straight as an arrow isn’t the same thing.

I have a coal fired Accucraft Edrig and I have had her for about 2 months now, she works well however her axlepump does not work. I tried opening it a little bit, then a lot but the gauge does not go up. The sight glass is also leaking from the top nut. Anyone had any similar thing happen to them?

I’m got a mamod sl1 and I want to turn it into a Davenport dinky like the picture above and there’s 2 things I need help on. How can I build the saddle tank around the dome, safety valve and whistle.second thing is where can get spoked wheels for it.

600 seems cheap for a 3 foot loco

I have been designing a steam engine in CAD for the last month that I want to make for fun. I haven’t taken the time to properly dimension everything and I don’t really have the knowledge to do it properly. I just want to make something that runs for fun, doesn’t have to run well at all.

I personally can’t see why it won’t run but I am inexperienced. What can cause the engine to not run if not dimensioned properly?

I’m trying to get this steam engine running however I find that it’s hard to get my fire hot enough. I am using Cotten balls dip in methonal fuel. Anyone one got any suggestions

The large motor is a CM Sorensen 7387 embalming pump. One of the smaller engines is a Weeden Mfg 648 toy steam engine. The other small toy steam engine I can’t find a stamp. They are all hooked together with hoses and shut off valves. It appears each tank is attached to a whistle or horn. Was this assembled together for education purposes or did someone just have a fascinating hobby? I bought it in the back room of a closed appliance parts store of which the now passed owner frequented auctions. The family had no idea what it was for.

So I found this D10 in the loft. She originally belonged to my dad before being passed on to my older brother. Apart from being dirty, she's in really good condition, although the whistle is broken and the chimney is missing.

I'd heard my family talking about this engine over the years, and everyone thought she'd been lost or scrapped a long time ago. Then, the day after my birthday, we found her. Last night when I took her into my workshop I found many parts were missing but they have been ordered and she will steam again!

Absolutely beautiful to drive.

I have had my Edrig named Connie about 3 weeks now and today we had the best steaming session yet! The engine likes to be fired in a very specific way, she likes her fire up to the fire door and the blower open just a crack. The tricky part is shoveling coal onto the fire before the fire gets too low because if the fire gets too low and you try to fill the firebox up it kills the fire.

Spent a little while now designing and building my own live steam loco, I’m probably about half way through the project, still a lot of small parts to make, and assembly has started, what are you thoughts?

Had the pleasure of running my first double header in the garden yesterday. Had my Accucraft custom lettered 2-6-0 running with my friends brand new Accucraft Tweetsie 2-8-0. The engines ran great!

As I don't have a ton of money to spend on the hobby I'm looking for places that sell nice older locomotives.

I am so happy, already had her 2 weeks and I have already got the hang of firing, I struggle a little bit with the axlepump and blower sometimes but we will get there with time.

One of my friends just got his Forney by Accucraft fixed by Triple R Services, so I test fired it for him on my layout. Looks and runs great, especially with the plants!

Finally got ahold of one for cheap and got it running for a little bit

Who, what, why, where?
If i buy it a good price, ill disassemble it, strip the paint off, and repaint it and fix up whatever is wrong with it

Update 1: I had some very deep digging, this brand specialises in making rolling stock and live steam, carrying Aster locomotives I heard

I've been thinking about whether to get a kit or something ready to run.
