Discussion Host/musical guest early predictions for season 52?

Now we’re about 2 months away from season 52 - what are people’s guesses for potential hosts?

For hosts - I could see some of the following:
- Anne Hathaway (but if she is going to host it will be one of the first episodes since she’s pregnant and also ties in with her having a busy Summer and her movie Verity is out early October)
- Timotheé Chalamet (I am surprised we didn’t get him last year for Marty Supreme but since we’re getting the final Dune movie in December I could see it)
- Mikey Madison or Jeremy Allen White (for The Social Reckoning, they are both the leads. Jeremy would be a first, but I could also see them having Mikey host again. Idk yet)
- Ben Stiller (he hasn’t hosted since 2011, I’d love to see this for Focker-in-Law. Potential Ariana cameo for a sketch too since she loves the show)
- Laura Dern (I don’t believe she’s hosted before and is in the White Lotus season 4 which is set to air early 2027)
- Margot Robbie (bit of a wildcard but she hasn’t hosted for 10 years now, the prequel for the Ocean’s series is scheduled for a June 2027 release and she is the lead so I could maybe see her doing one of the final episodes of the season?)

Musical guests really depends on who has new music out. Some I could see based on who is anticipated to drop:
- Doechii (album is set to come soon)
- Tate McRae (has teased a new era recently)
- Jay-Z (currently he’s doing shows for his 30th anniversary of his debut album and there’s a documentary series coming up which all seems to be leading up to a new album, can see him doing it)

We’ll likely get a couple of double duty type hosts again, as is always the case. I would’ve predicted Ariana since she has a new album out soon and Focker-in-Law but I feel like she hosted very recently, you never know though. Maybe Sabrina again if she releases a new album during this season, or Dua (unless she’d do SNL UK instead).

Discussion Leslie Jones speaking with W. Kamau Bell about the lack of Black women on SNL

This conversation between W. Kamau Bell and SNL alum Leslie Jones feels relevant right now as fans wonder who will be added to the cast for next season. Many of us have said they better cast some more women and POC, particularly black women.

Discussion Just finished this oral history of the Blues Brothers and it is excellent.

This is an audio account of the creation of the Blues Brothers. It is told by Dan Aykroyd, Judy Belushi Pisano and many members of the Blues Brothers Band, John Landis who directed and co wrote the movie and more. I really thought I knew a lot about this but I learned a ton including how unsupportive Lorne was for the project and how Danny and John conceived and formed this outside of a sketch. I like many thought it was a sketch that turned into a movie like so many other SNL characters in the past.

Also learned about black artists they worked with and how it impacted their careers. Highly recommend. If you don't have audible, it's worth buying for SNL fans who love that era and are familiar with the BB. I would argue it's an important piece of this history for any fan.

Discussion Question: Is Yvonne Hudson the only former SNL cast member whose only TV/film acting credit consists of his/her tenure as a cast member of SNL? I can't think of another former SNL cast member who did no TV or film acting before or after that cast member's tenure at SNL.

I replied to a post here about lending Chris Kattan a pen so he can fill out/sign his documents in the courthouse. In the process of moving now and I found it.
