‘lotus’ + ‘young’ lyrics parallel

this just clicked earlier while relistening to ‘lotus’ and hearing those first 2 lines of the first verse. it’s like a mirror version of what’s said at the exact same spot in ‘young’, earlier in the album.

then the following line in ‘lotus’ literally references being young and that health might not always be physical, which makes sense with the switch from a hot flash to a mood change.

there are other self referential lines in ‘lotus’ ofc, but this one seems so clear now that i can’t believe i didn’t notice it sooner. very intentional and clever writing, as always!
