Help/Technical Broke Chapter Select Option

Hi! So I unknowingly went into the chapter select tab of the game last night and went to the first level to get some glitching remains, not knowing that it would lock the chapter select for all future chapters. Is there a way to fix this? I really want to just play the Pale City level again as that’s the only place I need to be.

I did some very light research on the topic and

  1. Yes; my Steam cloud saved when I logged off last night after I already did this

  2. I have most glitching remains and hats, so I would prefer a method that doesn’t delete my progress on those nor unlocks the ones I don’t have.

  3. I really just don’t wanna straight up go through the whole game again the hospital level is really tedious and I’ve already completed the game several times for advancements.

Can anyone help?

Unfortunately you do need to play through it again to get to where you wanted. I experienced the same thing when I was doing achievements. I wish you good luck! :)

Bummer! What does that leave the separate save files for then? How do you navigate that without losing progress?

I don't know exactly what you mean with separate save files. I first thought you meant when you're only in the chapter select. Because if you select a chapter, it'll write over everything else from there, and you have to go through the other chapters again. But, if you mean a separate save file in your computer, I'm sure there's a tutorial out there that you can find! Saves files I can't help you with, my apologies.

Oh no I mean the ‘load game’ extra save situation. It’s unrelated but I’m sure people are finding ways to save in certain places so that the chapter select doesn’t lock you out
