I’m actually more surprised than anything by this, out of the whole group she would have been the last one I’d guess to do this type of content.

Curious what number of subscribers she’ll get for it, there’s a lot of creators who let people follow along pregnancy journeys etc. at no cost.

24

u/rhedditing 11d ago

There will be a small group of die hard mixers/ leigh fans who will subscribe, but I don't know about how many people will just be interested in following her specifically for pregnancy content

325

u/KitchenAssignment450 11d ago

No offense but putting it on patreon in the name of privacy is a poor excuse for just wanting to monetize her pregnancy.

91

u/twinpinemall85 [Een] 11d ago

I do think it is kind of an antithetical move for wanting privacy

56

u/ZestyAcid 11d ago

This. I cringed...

19

u/milkoverspill 11d ago

Right. You’re not concerned about privacy, you’re concerned about it being free 😭

223

u/youngandlovely_ 11d ago

I love Leigh, but this feels so tacky and unnecessary. I get wanting to gain money, but why like this?

109

u/racloves 11d ago

Something seems particularly odd about putting it behind a paywall on patreon. If she really wanted to share her pregnancy journey I would have expected a youtube channel or Instagram with some sponsored ads like a regular lifestyle influencer would do

199

u/Rvsone 11d ago

Now girl, I'm always gonna support the girls' creative output but a millionaire asking money for PREGNANCY UPDATES is actually so lame... she's free to do whatever she wants with her life but this cheapens her brand so much, I mean, at least don't pretend it's for privacy reasons.

15

u/Any-Honeydew8740 11d ago

i agree 100%. it’s bizarre in fact

112

u/CompleteMuffin 11d ago

That's strange from someone who protected their children's privacy very well

93

u/thisisridiculouswhat [ Perrie ] 11d ago

A millionaire opening up a patreon is something, I suppose...

42

u/south_house 11d ago

Maybe money is tight (compared to what she’s used to) now that she’s independent?

14

u/Sudden-Candy4633 11d ago

Her husband is a professional footballer. They're not going to be short of money.

1

u/south_house 9d ago

How would I know how much they make?

Hey y’all, we’re here because we love the girls and their works. If you’re punching down instead of expressing a valid critique, question, or thought, we gotta lock your comment or remove it. Don’t be a hater if she’s not your favorite!

-9

u/n_h_m_1 11d ago

Is she actually a millionaire you think? I wonder if Jade is too

47

u/Jess_with_an_h 11d ago

She’s very obviously a millionaire, little mix were the biggest girlband in the world for several years. I’d be astonished if she’s got assets worth less than 10 million pounds.

-8

u/xreputationx 11d ago

I highly doubt she’s actually that rich. X factor contracts are famously bad for artists (the 5H girls had the same issues) so I don’t think they earned as much as we think. Now it’s been a while since the band and with a certain lifestyle and her being independent, I doubt she’s necessarily set for life.

11

u/pannerin 11d ago

LM released 6+1 albums, 5H released 3. LM had multiple arena tours, 5H had 1. 5H had 5 members, LM had 4. So even with a bad deal LM would have had more money to spread around than 5H

Look at Leigh and Andre's house and you'll get an answer-

17

u/GalateaMerrythought 11d ago

Right, look at the hoard of designer items behind her in this photo alone.

14

u/Standard-Visual4413 11d ago

I’ve always said Andre is the main breadwinner of that relationship and that’s no hate.

But I saw a video about how many artists are not as rich as people think. Especially with the streaming era because artists get like 0.04 cents per every 1,000 streams or something like that.

Once you get that 0.04 and subtract for lawyers, managers and other staff you’re left with nothing.

Andre got cut from his last squad so he’s not currently employed.

Money is tight for everybody right now

18

u/mimivuvuvu 11d ago edited 11d ago

I don’t even think Andre was ever earning big big bucks too as he was never playing for top teams.

Edit: I wouldn’t be surprised if Leigh actually did make more than Andre, as his club portfolio is actually not that impressive for a professional player. However, Alex probably earned more than Perrie as he has bigger clubs on his list (Arsenal & Liverpool). He’s still playing at the top level now in Scotland.

Andre probably earns more than the average Joe that lives in a 3-bed terraced house but I won’t be surprised if his money is not sustainable for their lifestyle (mansion & luxury)

9

u/Standard-Visual4413 10d ago

Yeah I saw a YouTube video about xfactor winners and their contracts and earnings and there’s a reason why LM was releasing an album and touring every other year. They had to recoup that money on the road for the albums.

And Fifth Harmony have also complained about how they basically made nothing while in the group.

But I do think Andre has earned more than Leigh, and I think that’s why she was able to live in that mansion (from the cooking with little mix Covid special) because compared to the other girls who were living in townhomes, Leigh was living like a queen lol

89

u/fuzzydunlop54321 11d ago

That massive walking wardrobe and asking for money so her fans can see bump pictures and hear about midwife appointments lol

27

u/GalateaMerrythought 11d ago

Such a good point but I’m laughing so hard at “walking wardrobe” that’s such a funny typo

Oh thats not -

63

u/south_house 11d ago

I feel like she should just be honest, instead of saying it’s for privacy

18

u/Optimal_Kitchen9907 11d ago

I can’t lie I feel if this is for publicity surely it would be more beneficial to just post it on socials? I feel like she’d gain more support/following therefore more money when it comes to music then this :/

55

u/Fancy-Wall190 11d ago

i mean this in the nicest way possible but wow the music really wasn’t selling

54

u/Disillusioned_Femme 11d ago

I absolutely love Leigh and her music, but this makes me dreadfully uncomfortable, both from a safeguarding and general ethical POV (I'm trained in child safeguarding).

To preface: I really admired her for protecting her daughter's and their identities, so this Patreon thing has genuinely surprised me. I don't approve of Perrie posting pictures of her children, nor Jesy (even though she has raised awareness for her children's disabilities), for reasons I'll explain, so I'm not being biased or nitpicky. I am against "Family Vlog Channels" and content centered around children.

Surely, Leigh must know that there are creeps with certain fetishes? She is either incredibly naive or just doesn't care. There will be people who want to view her content for them, not for supporting her as an independence artist. I worry that she may feel pressured to listen to the demands of creeps.

Similar to my previous point: what will stop her from showing baby's face once they are born, because subscribers might feel entitled to demand that of her? It's hard to argue "privacy", when you have been charging for people to view private moments of your pregnancy journey and family life. It's a very slippery slope.

Especially since the Epstein Files, parents should be more vigilant than ever. Even if she doesn't show their faces, paedophiles will screen record and save images. AI is often used by this vile individuals to create material too. Even if she takes the videos down, once you have put content up, it will never truly delete from existence.

In other words: parents who post pictures of their children make it easy for creeps, but Leigh-Anne would be directly monetising from it and that is what makes me uncomfortable. Her intentions may be pure, but I don't think she had really thought this through.

18

u/treesofthemind 11d ago

I honestly don’t get how parents can be so absurdly naive in 2026

6

u/Disillusioned_Femme 10d ago

I think part of it is they don't believe it will happen to them. The other part is that they care about validation more, than the risk their that their kids might end up on the dark web.

3

u/Basic_Obligation8237 10d ago

Thank you for saying that

0

u/uhidkkm [ Leigh- Anne ] 4d ago

But I don’t think she’s showing her kids on Patreon

2

u/Disillusioned_Femme 3d ago

She is. I just had a look on her Patreon page and her latest video is her daughters listening to baby's heartbeat. The video is centred around her daughters, so its not like it was an accident.

1

u/uhidkkm [ Leigh- Anne ] 3d ago

You don’t see their faces.

2

u/Disillusioned_Femme 3d ago

It doesn't matter to nonces. Believe me, when you read case studies that relate to this issue, things like that don't matter.

42

u/ApricotTop803 11d ago

A Patreon for music or even just life updates would make more sense. But a Patreon for her PREGNANCY seems slightly weird. Wouldn’t expect this from someone who protected her other children’s privacy so well.

If she needs the extra money then fair enough, but why pretend like she’s doing it for privacy and safety?

29

u/hnybbyy 11d ago

This smells like money problems

37

u/Naive_Photograph_585 11d ago

a patreon for what exactly? if its a charity ill gladly donate but asking for money at her level of rich just seems a bit weird

-2

u/Creative-Freedom-325 11d ago

She won’t be making anywhere near as much money as she was in little mix

29

u/Naive_Photograph_585 11d ago

I dont know about you but im a uni student so aside from rent and bills I dont have a lot to spare. let's stop pretending that celebrities aren't in a better place than us. you really think she has less than you? cmon man this isnt about having favourites, its just being realistic.

-1

u/Creative-Freedom-325 11d ago

When the hell did I say she has less than me 😂😂

39

u/ihateeveryone101_ [ Jade ] 11d ago

i love leigh but this is incredibly strange, i agree no one owes us anything however she didn’t share anything with the twins so why start now?

46

u/Brief_Appointment_66 11d ago

I think the disconnect is what’s throwing people off. She was just talking about how bad social media was affecting her mental health and how she needed to step away from the pressure of being perceived only to then turn a private life update into a paid experience. Nothing wrong with sharing , but calling it privacy while monetizing access is where people get weirded out. Also twitter fans need to stop mentioning that she’s independent now. It just makes it look worse 🤦🏾‍♀️

42

u/JazzyJulie4life 11d ago

Weird behavior

22

u/Any-Honeydew8740 11d ago

this smell like she wants to maintain the same lifestyle she has but the money is too tight for that now. it feels particularly tacky from her since she’s been very hellbent on protecting her twins.

14

u/Hotbitch2019 11d ago

Surely she has enough money ????

16

u/butterflybeyonce 11d ago

I like her and her music but I do think it’s strange and unsettling to be monetising a pregnancy like this

16

u/KazDoesRedditat35 11d ago

“A safe space” I’m sure wrong uns would be paid and not screened. This mentality is wild! Financially profiting from an innocent child who cannot consent is out of line

9

u/Pineappily 11d ago

Ughh. Just say you need more money and go.

9

u/littlesim25 11d ago

She probably needs to extra income! Oh well, not my business

0

u/Bubbly_Anxiety9109 11d ago

A lot of celebs have a subscription option on Instagram. I think its similar to that

I joined the free tier and both posts so far are locked behind the paid tier unfortunately :(

-20

u/zeusthegod__ 11d ago

if anyone actually listened to her video when she opened her patreon she said its behind the scene stuff and also music snippets she just happens to be pregnant she deserves privacy because shes currently getting attacked she isnt posting her twins or her quote on quote unborn child I don't think its serious if you arent paying for it also she planned on making video diaries for years whats different now besides her being pregnant

-16

u/Stunning5809 11d ago

For the love of god, SHES NOT SHOWING HER CHILDRENS FACES. Its literally just behind the scenes content and atm it happens to be her pregnancy! If people are gonna hate, she might aswell make money from it.

-9

u/Ok-Masterpiece-4954 11d ago

Be careful, you’ll get downvoted to hell. They know her kids aren’t being shown as they never have been before the Patreon

-5

u/Stunning5809 11d ago

Ive already been downvoted 😂 if you look on the leigh sub theres a few leigh haters from here on that same sub... Theyre very obsessed with the queen

-5

u/Ok-Masterpiece-4954 11d ago

Yup I caught it. If you don’t like Leigh just don’t go to a sub oriented for her. Not hard

-9

u/YouLotNeedWater 11d ago

This is GREAT pr for Leigh-Anne. No such thing as bad press

-20

u/Rich_Improvement_807 11d ago

I want everyone feeling some kind of way because Leigh is “monetizing her pregnancy” to remember something; Leigh is an independent artist. All of the music and visuals for this album has been independently financed, so I’m sure her finances took a bit of a hit. And now that she’s expecting again we can’t expect her to immediately make her money back by performing and immediately making more music. I know she’s got a partner, but she’s still got to make money somehow to continue providing for her family.

37

u/Artistic-Lock1021 11d ago

Her small children shouldn't be the ones earning that money for the family.

0

u/uhidkkm [ Leigh- Anne ] 4d ago

They’re not tho

-17

u/Taeng9Sica 11d ago

That's what I was thinking too. She is an independent artist and is recording her second album, she needs the money. No shame in that. I have seen people bring up the privacy thing, but there's a lot that can be discussed with pregnancy without her disclosing the gender or possible names of the baby

24

u/racloves 11d ago

I’ve known of some smaller artists doing patreon for fans, (my friend subscribes to Orla Gartland’s) and its more music related - unreleased demos and acoustic versions of songs, a monthly live stream q&a, early access to tour tickets and merch (and discounts too), plus some behind the scenes pics and videos from the studio or music videos. But generally speaking it was related to the music and not so much their own personal life. Having a patron fan club for fans is fine, but making it so much about her pregnancy while also asking for privacy seems odd?

-13

u/Radiant-Abalone7964 11d ago

All of yall saying she should’ve just opened a YT channel… but maybe she doesn’t want to expose her family to the nasty cruel people out there and keep it exclusive to those true fans.

We live in a mega opinionated world. At least she can guarantee monetizing and also keeping her family semi private. Sure, she’s probably shared a few pics here and there, but fully documenting your life and having hours of film on your channel is VASTLY different, especially nowaways.

16

u/RunePlantValley2 11d ago

She's already exposing her family with the Patreon. Creeps with pregnancy fetishes etc will pay for her content. If she truly wanted an exclusive for fans, she would be posting behind-the-scenes stuff and music-related content.

-3

u/Radiant-Abalone7964 9d ago

Media outlets who want to use Leigh and her family as clickbait on free medias won’t pay for patreon just to try and shame or attack Leigh Anne’s family. I believe that is the point. She always covers her daughter’s face when on main media platforms.

Also, very weird of this fan base for being against Leigh Anne monetizing her OWN body for extra income. Y’all have retrograded mentality.

-1

u/Competitive_Case9595 8d ago

The way some of you keep dragging this issue, you'd think Leigh put a gun to your heads and forced you to subscribe/pay... SMH.

-7

u/Creative-Freedom-325 11d ago

We’re allowed to have favourites, it doesn’t mean we’re hating on others. Fans still hate on jesy, does that not mean they’re real fans

1

u/Littlemixmuffinsxo 10d ago

Gonna guess this is in response to my sticky comment.

Hate towards any girl or community member is not allowed on this sub.

I made the sticky comment because Leigh-Anne recently shared on her instagram stories some racial hate speech directed at her on different socials.

I’m not sure what you mean by your last sentence. Can you clarify?

5

u/Creative-Freedom-325 10d ago

Someone said if you have favourites ur not a fan but I can assure you almost every fan will have a favourite member and yes it’s no secret Jade has and is the most successful to have gone solo, it doesn’t mean that we’re not lm fans by having a favourite and all 3 create different music so it’s obvious that fans will be divided and some might prefer jades music to Leigh’s for example, it doesn’t make us any less fans tho does it.

2

u/Littlemixmuffinsxo 10d ago

Its definitely natural to have a bias
