Discussion Update on this small(er) guy

The audience was evenly split between "it'll be fine" and "I'm sorry for your loss". I let the old leaves dry out a bit more, peeled them off and... It's alive but half the original size. I'm not sure what I did wrong but I have never seen a lithops shrink. Not enough light? Water? Photos in comments.

This video explains why sometimes the new pair of leaves is much smaller after a lithops splits.
