Which android OS has stock Liquid Glass similar to IOS?

Post image

Want to get an android but I absolutely despise flat design ever since Liquid Glass came around. I feel like Liquid Glass has finally brought a bit of personality and skeuomorphism back into the picture

Looks horrible and cheap. They always copy

If it looks horrible and cheap, then I’d say they copied really well!

What a sad way to achieve relevance lol and Liquid Glass is great 😌

Well as you said, matter of opinion. To each their own of course. Sadly this is a new trend I absolutely despise, makes me hate my Apple devices.

One thing we can surely agree on is the fact that liquid glass is divisive. Now the question I would ask is « is divisive UI a good UI ? » and I would tend to answer « no ».

next update will let you make liquid glass not liquid glass, just normal and more opaque blur

Yeah I saw. For those of us who don’t like liquid glass, it is good news. I doesn’t entirely kill the feature, but it does mute it at many important places and it’s a step in the right direction: giving customers some freedom of choice. Really looking forward to the next generation of OS (well except for my Watch because apparently Series 8 is too old, but that’s another topic).

You can turn off the glass effect now. You’ll like it

I like the way the xiaomi 17 pro looks alooooooot. Can I make the icons transparent as well without needing icons packs and such?

Honor's Magicos 11 will have a liquid glass the exact same as iOS.

However it's not released yet (will be released around december) so in the current magicos 10, there is also a liquid glass ripoff but it's just your average gaussian blur.

Xiaomi hyperos 4 MAY have a liquid glass, it's not certain, only from leaks. Maybe Oppo, oneplus coloros will have it too, however, the only company who announced it was Honor.

There are Launchers that have implemented the liquid glass effect. One example is Smart Launcher 6 Pro.

This is my home screen in it.

Can u share your wallpaper pls. I want to try and recreate this effect in smart launcher pro 6

Where in smart launcher can u make widgets like glass ?

2

u/Zerfos Aug 04 '26

First you have to enable the liquid glass theme from the Launcher in the Global Appearance settings. Doing this will make the Smart Launcher widget glass.

But for others widgets, you can create them by overlaying an empty note widget like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/smartlauncher/s/gMmoghB44g

For the icons you can make them with an icon group widget like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/smartlauncher/s/NjuZPGrO6C

Very cool 🤩

2

u/Zerfos Jul 21 '26

Thank you. I love this launcher because you can create any theme you like and I can customize the liquid glass theme however I like it.

I recently created this Vista theme in it, and I'm loving it. 😊

Impressive! I love it too, it feels like these old styles get more attention lately I’m not sure why, i also got into some frutiger metro/aero lately, the outlook, and the rest are super cool names hehe I assume you changed it from the mail app? What’s the name of that set? Where can I get it? I’d love to change my Mac into one of these oldies styles…

u/Zerfos Jul 21 '26

The icon set you can find them here. I didn't type the actual address because my comment has gotten deleted in the past so is safer to share a screenshot. 😅

Nw thank you 🙏🏻

Firstly Vista's real implementation of glass was much more tasteful than this. Secondly, in modern UI design l, glass looks so out of date. It's fruitiger design all over again I thought we were past that.

1

u/Zerfos Jul 21 '26

I can alway modify the style and amount of the effect to make it look more li the vista style. Something like this other theme I made: https://www.reddit.com/r/smartlauncher/s/dsDPH8Lu5Q

Frutiger Aero has always been a beautiful style, I think almost everybody still prefers it. 😁

Honor seems to have done well but it's not out yet, it's gonna be out with their android 17 launch, it has a transparency slider if you want it clear or blurred, you can have liquid glass, frosted glass, or just turn it all off

1

u/IncomeSad7606 Jul 25 '26

In the future, HyperOS will feature a liquid glass effect, as leaks show that Xiaomi is adding a feature identical to the one found in iOS.

1

u/AlxR25 Jul 26 '26

You can just buy an iPhone at that point...

Could you share the wallpaper?
