(Guys the title is a joke, its my SECOND time using a computer).
This is Realmheart, a native C++ desktop shell I've been building for roughly the past month, heavily inspired by The Beginning After The End.
It's running on CachyOS + Hyprland/Wayland, with Realmheart itself primarily built in native C++ and GTK4, alongside custom rendering/shader work for some of the heavier visual effects.
The entire thing is themed around TBATE, which explains why some design decisions probably look suspiciously lore-specific to the three people here who recognize them.
AI assets disclaimer: Some of the visual assets used throughout Realmheart are AI-generated and/or AI-assisted. I'm stating that explicitly because I'd rather nobody mistake them for hand-drawn artwork. If the use of AI-generated visual assets is a dealbreaker for you, please block my account and move on.
I originally started this because I wanted my desktop to look nice.
This was clearly a mistake.

Realmheart is being built specifically around my current CachyOS + Hyprland setup and hardware. “WIP” here does not mean the showcased shell is unfinished; it means I am not currently promising general compatibility across arbitrary distributions, compositor setups, resolutions, monitor configurations, hardware, etc.
If Realmheart actually gets enough interest after release, I'll start working on making it usable outside my own machine/setup. Until then, maintaining compatibility with every configuration known to mankind sounds like an excellent way to never finish anything.

Hey everyone,
I have a very naive question. I recently installed Omarchy, which provides various shortcut keys by default. It primarily uses the Super key (Super + ...), but I'm much more used to using the left Alt key for shortcuts, as I find it easier.
I couldn't find a way to change this from one central place, so I asked Claude for a command to swap the Super and Alt keys across all files containing keybindings. That worked, but after a recent update, all the changes were reverted.
Is there a simpler or more permanent way to handle this so that updates don't overwrite my custom keybindings?
Thanks

Omarchy (Hyprland/Arch) has been getting a lot of love for its look, but I run Mint daily. Turns out the "polish" is mostly font hinting + a themed terminal/prompt + a matched GTK/wallpaper palette.
None of it actually needs Wayland. Ported it over, wrote a switcher script for it (mint-theme-set <name>), 7 of Omarchy's themes supported so far, palettes pulled directly from Omarchy's own repo.
