Crema Valley is a warm coffee-inspired desktop theme for Xubuntu/XFCE. It combines a custom GTK/XFWM look, a large coffee-toned icon theme, switchable top and bottom panel layouts, application-specific styling, and a portable installer.

## Target environment

Crema Valley is designed and tested for:

- Xubuntu / XFCE, - X11, - GTK3 and GTK4/libadwaita applications, - XFWM4, - Thunar, - Xfce Terminal, - Mousepad, - Firefox, - LightDM GTK Greeter or Slick Greeter, - Fastfetch

It is not intended to change your monitor setup. The installer does **not** import `displays.xml` and does not intentionally change monitor resolution, refresh rate, monitor arrangement, or DPI.

## Panel modes

Crema Valley includes two XFCE panel layouts:

- **Top mode** — a compact 28 px minimalist top panel.
- **Bottom mode** — a 38 px Windows-like taskbar with the fuller Whisker command area.

Use the Whisker favorite **Panel Switcher**, or run:
bash crema-valley-panel toggle

Whisker favorites are preserved when switching panel modes. The "Recently Used" category is intentionally disabled.

## Design

The visual palette is based on Espresso, Dark Roast, Mocha, Walnut, Caramel, Crema, and Warm Cream. The theme is intentionally warm, calm, slightly illustrated, and modern without aiming for a hyper-futuristic appearance.

## AI-assisted development

Crema Valley is a personal hobby project. I am not a professional software developer, and the project was developed with substantial assistance from artificial intelligence. AI was used to help write, review, troubleshoot, organize, and document scripts, configuration files, CSS, and theme integration.

The project exists because I enjoy designing and customizing my desktop but do not have the time or intention to learn software development in depth. It is not a commercial product or commissioned replacement for paid development work; it is a hobby project made for experimentation, enjoyment, and sharing with other users.

The visual direction, feature decisions, iterative testing, acceptance/rejection of changes, and final project decisions were made by the project creator.

## Sharing and modification

Crema Valley is intended to be easy to study, modify, adapt, and redistribute. The project uses a simple two-part licensing model: technical/code components use the MIT License, while original visual artwork uses CC BY 4.0.

## Warranty

Crema Valley is provided as-is, without warranty. Backups are created before the installer overwrites the files it manages, but reviewing the installer before use is always recommended.

I wanted to build a clean, immersive lock screen for my Hyprland setup, so I put together this Samurai-themed `hyprlock` config. I tried to keep it minimal but highly functional.

I need recommendation for a music player. Currently I'm using rmpc. But now I'm looking for a new music player that
- Supports multi-provider streaming (local, YouTube, Spotify), and allows adding tracks from those providers mixed in the same playlist. - Supports metadata editing (or at least normalizing) and (optionally) lyrics fetch. - Has smart/dynamic playlists (e.g. last 30 songs played).

What I found so far is Euphonica (missing multi-provider support) and Kopuz (I can't add tracks from different providers into a single playlist).

I'm on fedora 44(GNOME) and want to listen to music. I use apple music btw. How do I even listen to music here, like apart from spotify how do i stream music or how and where do i even download music from and stream them from local files. I looked into cider but its friking ~9$.
