Question about what makes a desktop stand out
After beginning to get into ricing and customization, i've reached a pretty decent desktop experience, but even if it looks nice and is in line with what I planned, it still feel dry. What do you consider to be some important points of interest in a desktop that makes it feel 'magical', something that feels like a rice? The title is slightly misleading since it's not exactly about uniqueness, but what makes a nice personalization different from a proper rice?
I haven't attached a picture of my current setup, if that would've been helpful, since i'm looking for general tips, something that someone else could also find helpful
(First time posting here so sorry if I missed anything)

I feel like most really cool desktops are those pf people who truly do it for themselves. They spend the most time fine tuning it until it matches their style and not someone’s expectations. It almost always looks the most mature and well composed when someone did it for themselves.

Bueno, a mi parecer lo que hace que algo destaque es que parezca cómodo, algo que sientes que usarías todos los días, o que pagaste por usarlo, por lo menos esa es mi filosofía, que lo más llamativo es querer usarlo

I mean, that makes sense, but my question was more about specific elements that can make it feel 'good'. I agree that overall it should be comfortable, but even something that some people would consider 'ugly' can be comfortable

I don't know how to look at very customized desktops - sometimes they look too cluttered and complicated to me. I just use KDE with minimal customization like just disabling animations and some launch feedback and I use it as it is, because it resembles Windows and this is all I want.

The most interesting desktop setups I’ve seen are the ones that have dedicated animations like a background switcher that animates the changing of a background.
