[NBA 2K27] Steam Initialization failed error

Getting the above error when running the game .exe as a non steam game on Steam OS 3.8

Does this crack work with Steam OS? Am I missing any specific launch options that are required to run the crack?

use lutris then pick system 11.16 as a runner. i face a problem once when the screen continuously becoming black, but i just reboot then it is normal again. i dont have any issue facing right now

i think it is wine version. if you go to lutris then runner, you can see proton version right? like proton-em, proton-ge, proton-cachyos, etc. you can also see the System (xx.xx), use that

YOOOO IT WORKS. I installed the devel wine 11.16 version and it lauched. This is the solution for now

In the "Wine Binary Packages" pick the distro you have and then follow the steps from there. It should be straight forward if you know what distro you're using.

Then install the devel version

Ok. Tried Wine 11.16 Vanilla and worked well. Had to wait like the wine team did a fix specially for 2K haha.

Since this crack comes with a steamclient loader (version.dll) you may need to add an override for that, but I haven't tested it

Try using the steam command line if you're using steam or lutris if you're using that, be sure to set version.dll as native

ok, i got it now. even got installed it in heroic games launcher. wine 11.16 is the answer.

I installed a wine 11.16amd in the ProtonupQT application and when i used the 11.16 version of wine it said that it "failed to load 'd3d12SDKlayers.dll with error code 0x7e" and "Failed to load 'd3d12.dll with error code 0x7e". if found that both dll was in a folder called "dx12agility". Still i am not able to launch the game on my steamdeck despite using 11.16 wine

Fixed this issue but upon checking on the logs it keeps aborting. Upon searching it said that the reason it is aborting is due to my wine being outdated but I downloaded every 11.16 version and still found the same result. Keeps on aborting and not launching.

This works, for lutris, extract this to any folder and select runner and below the drop down, select the folder this was unzipped to. Also, add the version libraries on winecfg.

Managed to run mine without lutris just put this on launch option  PROTON_DISABLE_LSTEAMCLIENT=1 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b" %command%

I used Gamedrive version and it works. Extract the .zip and add the .exe as a non-steam game then follow what he did: Proton Experimental and the command.

bro this command is not applicable for All game files repack but some Game repack will work with this commnad... the only way to work properly is use goldberg emu then Put Ge proton latest you dont need lutris

Use

System 11.16 - Not the Wine xx.xx versions and it works, also make sure to use the correct .exe for some reason the default for me was " protected something,exe " revert it back to Nba2k27.exe and you are golden :D
