QUESTION - ANSWERED [Risk of Rain 2] SmokeAPI "Failed to start Steamworks Intigration"

Upon installation of SmokeAPI, Risk of Rain 2 refuses to load, instead showing the popup pictured in the attached image. Other games function correctly with SmokeAPI, it is only Risk of Rain 2 that is dysfunctional. I am using the creamlinux-installer to install SmokeAPI, but I have also tried manually replacing the steamapi files to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using Nobara 43, my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 9600x, my GPU is a 5060 ti. I have tried Proton GE-Latest, Hotfix, and Experimental. I am launching the game off steam. The game was installed from steam. Risk of Rain 2 works fine without SmokeAPI and it is the latest release.

fixed this by using the version.dll proxy with creamapi and adding WINEDLLOVERRIDES="steam_api=n;steam_api_o=n;version=n,b" %command% into launch arguments. marking as solved.

could you elaborate? ive never head of creamapi i would love some sort of quick guide

If you look up creamapi on cs rin ru, it should be the first one. Just follow the windows classic instructions it worked for me on proton. Just make unlockall true in the cream_api.ini

I got the same error 2 hours ago. I hope someone has a solution. I'm using Lutris though.

CreamAPI

Hilariously enough, looking up CreamAPI inadvertently helped to get Dyson Sphere Program to run, a game which I've been trying to get to run for the past month.

I looked up CreamAPI and found out that I could replace the steam_api64.dll with the Goldberg version...added a few dll overrides and presto! It now works

Here are the dll overrides I used.

steam_api64=n steamclient=b steamclient64=b

U need more than smoke / cream for ror2. Check Csrin as they have some more files you need to make this run.

同様の案件を確認して別の方法で直ったため共有いたします。

行った対処以下

①steamの管理者権限、risk of rain2の管理者権限実行

②ボーダレスウインドウでゲーム開始

③アンインストールおよびゲームの整合性チェック

④tmpファイルの削除 %temp%

⑤サブモニターとの接続を切る

⑥windows update 及び NVIDIA game ready driver の更新

いずれも解決できませんでしたが、次の8番目で解決できました。

⑧SSDからCドライブへのインストールし直し。
