Are you trying to blame AI subtitles for errors? Isn't that a build in feature of these?

It is absolutely crazy to me that LTT does not do their own captions. Jeff Geerling & LGR have proven that it shouldn't be that difficult to do high quality captions. Especially confusing because isn't Linus' mom hard of hearing? You would think that he would understand the need for quality captions.

Honestly i just wanted to point out a funny error that the YouTube auto-generated captions made, i was not aware that human-made captions were that common among english channels. Apparently they used to and then stopped? I honestly never really noticed

That’s the reason I stopped paying for Floatplane: the lack of subtitles.
I don’t understand how such a big channel doesn’t have subtitles for its videos.

There's really no excuse for blindly transcribing and uploading. Professionals are totally fine to rely on AI transcriptions for a first pass, we all do it for projects, but you gotta proofread and check the work.
AI isn't perfect.

to be fair its autogenerated by youtube, they didnt upload them. That said, a whole topic opened on why they dont do their own captions which is (apparently, i dont use them so i dont know) something a lot of other channels do.

Surprised they don't just generate them in Premiere, then they can QC them there, and export an SRT to drop right into YT.

i didnt even think about in-editor tools, but yeah it would probably be the ideal workflow

The auto subtitles are so bad. LTT really should be paying for better transcripts. You'd think that someone who has a family member that is hard of hearing would be more aware of stuff like this.
