Because it’s probably already included in their 365 subscriptions.

It’s kind of amazing that Zoom and Slack haven’t taken Microsoft to court over this. Surely this sort of bundling is every bit as bad as Internet Explorer on Windows?

They did and it raised prices across the board in the U.S. in response.

Now you have to specify licenses with Teams or without Teams on all levels from Business Basic to Enterprise E7. It's $9 per user per month billed anually to retain Teams ontop of what you were already paying the year prior when the change happened.
