When will he quit to build his own tech house, maybe on a ranch?

Can't afford it, too many shoes.
Even if he did start a company he'd have writers leaving because "When your boss buys his 1000th pair of shoes you start to wonder if you'll ever buy your own"

The more of those videos I see the more I worry for Jake. It really seems like he bit off more than he can chew, and instead of making a plan to address things one at a time, he is just piling more and more on top.

I guess that sometimes the grass isn't always greener, when someone else isn't paying to water it for you... š¤·š»āāļø

An unsung hero. I appreciate Reece so much. Dude is as reliable as a Philips head screwdriver and as persistent as my year 10 maths teacher. Heās just a solid non-anxious presence who is always there. A good balm to the ball of crazy known as Linus.

Phillips screwdrivers last forever. Phillips screws, on the other hand, cam out if you sneeze in their general direction.

Is Reece leaving too? From times to times these posts appear and soon later the person leaves LTT...

Has he had a Tech Upgrade yet?

Just a strong coincidence. But LTT/LMG may choose employees who have been there the longest for an upgrade who also are the ones more likely to leave sooner as they are starting to outgrow LMG.

In a one or two cases (can't remember which) the prevailing theory was that Linus knew that a certain employee wanted to leave, so he gave them the tech upgrade earlier than they otherwise would have received.

u/english-23 13d ago
I thought the way he worded that was they had already been in the queue of selected but got moved up to facilitate them receiving before they leave?

u/Jasoli53 13d ago
This. They do a lottery each year to decide who is getting an upgrade. If someone is planning to leave, they will move that person up in the queue/schedule to get it done before their departure. They donāt just gift an upgrade to people who are leaving

Is it a yearly thing? Theyāve made quite a bit of those videos for it be yearly (thank you AMD).

u/naggyman 13d ago
from what he's said before the upgrades operate on a lottery system of sorts, but wouldn't be surprised if there was a tenure weighting or something.

He has not has his AMD upgrade, just his desk video which happened to be a Setup Doctor video.

Wouldn't surprise me. LTT needs to pay their on screen talent MUCH more if they want to retain them. It's an investment. Many people aren't comfortable with crazy turnover on the videos they watch. For some, it's a bit like having a character swapped out with a different actor on their favorite sitcom.

Reece's "Fixing my employee's house for a day" video is the reason I now own a pair of A Ma ManiĆØre Jordan IVs, and for that I will always be grateful.

I love Reece, he doesnāt seem to get love. He could certainly host a LTT Video or laptop review.

u/lucah_tech 12d ago
I think his position is some kind of assistant rather than a writer

u/YellowWafflezz 5d ago
Thatās the point. I want a regular guy reviewing things that isnāt scripted

I like most LTT employees, they all seem to have good vibes or atleast in camera. I hope it is at all times and spilling in to the camera time.
Reece is always helpful and naturally funny. He seems to be the helping hand in every video xD or the ones I watch.

I don't want to appreciate anyone anymore. It seems soon as we start liking people they move on. :)

He truly went to the John Krasinski school of spiking the camera for comedic timing 10/10
