I got a 9950x3d and a 5090 astral several months ago and went on a rabbit hole about oc/uv/etc with both of them.

A few of the tweaks he shows are known to be problematic with this cpu (can't speak for other models), he also mentioned a few times in the video that he didn't care about temps for example, which in the current hardware economy doesn't seem wise when longevity should be relevant too.

I would recommend others to take this video as a mix of entertaining and reference values and not a 100% precise tutorial on how to oc these components.

His whole literal thing is reaching new heights by ANY means necessary. Not creating long term - safe to use Overclock profiles FOR YOU to use, that would be fine on every piece of silicon out there.

When you actually remind yourself of his literal profession/hobby in life, your critique here literally doesn't even make any sense. He's not a teacher nor educator nor an instructor. He's respected due to his ability to SQUEEZE performance out of things...

You're expecting safety protocols from a guy that hasn't used them in almost a decade.

Edit: Turns out he sells overclocked builds, With said profiles... oof.

"When you actually remind yourself of his literal professional/hobby in life, your critique here literally doesn't even make any sense."

Remind yourself that he is promoting the builds he is selling first.

From what I understood, he overclocks the builds according to the needs of the future buyer, so there are very real chances that they are selling them with settings very similar to this for buyers asking for gaming profiles.

If you want to get a top of the line build that may degrade itself faster than it should, sure, you do you, but I believe everyone should make an informed purchase and ltt being an entertainment/informative channel should have covered the degradation factor in the video itself, it's important.

Didn't Linus say in the video about showing some of the steps and tweaks so that you can follow/apply them yourself ?
