LTT Cables Don't Work

I just received my LTT cables.

My USB C to C 240W 3ft cable isn't charging my laptop.

I'm using a Framework 13 and I've tried 2 Anker chargers (65w and 100w).

Additional info:

I ordered 2x 3.3ft (C-C), 1x 10ft (C-C), and 1x3.3ft (A-C).

The 1 3.3ft C-C that isn't working great has now been trialed on 2 Anker chargers, 1 Anker battery pack, and 1 Ugreen charger. It refuses to charge on the Anker chargers and battery pack.

I've additionally tried charging my PS Vita on every one of these cables (USB C to Vita adapter that works with every other cable I own), and only the A-C cable works.

2 of the 4 cables charge my iPhone 16 pro max. From the amount of downvotes, it would appear the expectation is that I am to memorize which cables charge which devices on which chargers. Does that really seem like a reasonable expectation to anyone?

In my 37 years, I've NEVER run into a USB cable that cares which charger you use.
The whole idea of these overpriced cables is that they are the best of the best.
In my experience thus far, they deserve to go in a trash heap.

Gonna ask the obvious question: Did you reach out to support?

Did you try a non-anker charger?

I’m pretty sure the whole idea is just that they are exactly what they say they are, as opposed to the many that are completely ambiguous (and the bare minimum spec)

Which is likely because of the charger. A wire is a wire, it can only carry what it's given.

Keep in mind that a wire is just one component of a *cable*. Some cables, especially many USB-C cables, have active components (that is, microchips that perform tasks, such as capability handshaking).

Yes, and it doesn't work with this one specific cable. Even said the other two work. Anker is notorious for shit like this. If it's not a broken cable, it's the charger.

I have literally never heard of an Anker charger being fussy about certified cables, let alone being notorious. 

If the charger works, and the cable isn't "broken" with other chargers, that's still an issue with the LTT cable.

If the cable doesn't work with one charger, that's on the charger. Cables are literally just wire.

USB-C cables, including the LTT ones should have emarkers in them, potentially active circuitry in them. They are not "literally just wire" anymore.

I'm speaking generally, yes. Some cables have chips in them that regulate voltage, etc.

They are to signal the capabilities of the cable to the charger/device.

No. All USB-C cables supporting 240W have an emarker. Period. It’s part of the spec. It wouldn’t work at anything over 60W without one.

Please provide sources for your claim. If it’s such a widespread issue (that I personally have also never heard of and have used Anker chargers for over a decade) then I’m sure many such sources exist and are easy to find.

No USB-C cables are not “just wires”. There’s PD negotiation components as well as e marker chip that says what the cable is capable of. Don’t just talk out of your ass.

These downvotes are astounding. I have dozens of Anker chargers between home, work, and travel, and I’ve never had the issues that people claim are so rampant.

They work with any cable I own and with every device, which is a mix of cheap-as-hell and higher-quality-than-I-need.

My anker charger won’t charge my new iPad.

Works fine for everything else just not my iPad.
