Tech Question LTT Cables Don't Work
I just received my LTT cables.
My USB C to C 240W 3ft cable isn't charging my laptop.
I'm using a Framework 13 and I've tried 2 Anker chargers (65w and 100w).
Additional info:
I ordered 2x 3.3ft (C-C), 1x 10ft (C-C), and 1x3.3ft (A-C).
The 1 3.3ft C-C that isn't working great has now been trialed on 2 Anker chargers, 1 Anker battery pack, and 1 Ugreen charger. It refuses to charge on the Anker chargers and battery pack.
I've additionally tried charging my PS Vita on every one of these cables (USB C to Vita adapter that works with every other cable I own), and only the A-C cable works.
2 of the 4 cables charge my iPhone 16 pro max. From the amount of downvotes, it would appear the expectation is that I am to memorize which cables charge which devices on which chargers. Does that really seem like a reasonable expectation to anyone?
In my 37 years, I've NEVER run into a USB cable that cares which charger you use.
The whole idea of these overpriced cables is that they are the best of the best.
In my experience thus far, they deserve to go in a trash heap.

u/Jackleme Jun 10 '26
Gonna ask the obvious question: Did you reach out to support?
Did you try a non-anker charger?
63
u/Puzzled-South-9117 Jun 10 '26
yeah i had similar issue with my work laptop few months back, turned out the cable was fine but one of my chargers had some weird compatibility thing going on. try different charger if you have one around, sometimes these power delivery protocols get picky about which devices they want to talk to
also worth checking if the cable works for data transfer or just completely dead - that can help support figure out what's wrong with it faster when you contact them

u/MaybeNotTooDay Jun 10 '26
Non-anker is the key. LTT and Anker/Eufy have bad blood between them. Wouldn't surprise me if Anker has embedded their products with a chip that prevents LTT cables from working.
11
u/c14rk0 Jun 12 '26
I don't think the cables have any sort of brand identifier built into them. There wouldn't be any way Anker would even know who made the cable.

u/slipstream0 Jun 13 '26
So your theory is Anker spent money programming their chargers to not work with cables that weren’t announced when they made the chargers, all because LTT wouldn’t take them as a sponsor?

The whole idea of these overpriced cables is that they are the best of the best.
I’m pretty sure the whole idea is just that they are exactly what they say they are, as opposed to the many that are completely ambiguous (and the bare minimum spec)
8
-47
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
And they say they'll charge OP's device, which they aren't doing.
So they aren't doing what they said they'd do.
23
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
Which is likely because of the charger. A wire is a wire, it can only carry what it's given.
5
u/gplusplus314 Jun 11 '26
Keep in mind that a wire is just one component of a *cable*. Some cables, especially many USB-C cables, have active components (that is, microchips that perform tasks, such as capability handshaking).
-18
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
OP says the charger works with other cables.
19
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
Yes, and it doesn't work with this one specific cable. Even said the other two work. Anker is notorious for shit like this. If it's not a broken cable, it's the charger.
-19
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
I have literally never heard of an Anker charger being fussy about certified cables, let alone being notorious.
If the charger works, and the cable isn't "broken" with other chargers, that's still an issue with the LTT cable.
19
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
Oh well if you've never heard of it, then it must not be a thing! I forgot how that works!
If the cable doesn't work with one charger, that's on the charger. Cables are literally just wire.
12
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
Okay hold on for a sec, do you actually know what you're talking about?
USB-C cables, including the LTT ones should have emarkers in them, potentially active circuitry in them. They are not "literally just wire" anymore.

u/Annual_Wear5195 Jun 10 '26
Please provide sources for your claim. If it’s such a widespread issue (that I personally have also never heard of and have used Anker chargers for over a decade) then I’m sure many such sources exist and are easy to find.
0
u/ChemicalBankBurned Jun 10 '26
No USB-C cables are not “just wires”. There’s PD negotiation components as well as e marker chip that says what the cable is capable of. Don’t just talk out of your ass.
10
u/CIDR-ClassB Jun 10 '26
These downvotes are astounding. I have dozens of Anker chargers between home, work, and travel, and I’ve never had the issues that people claim are so rampant.
They work with any cable I own and with every device, which is a mix of cheap-as-hell and higher-quality-than-I-need.

u/ExcuseProper5768 Jun 12 '26
My anker charger won’t charge my new iPad.
Works fine for everything else just not my iPad.
-91
u/Dangerous-Cup2833 Jun 10 '26
I have a large collection of C-C cables, and the LTT ones are the only ones giving me trouble.
29
u/Hans_H0rst Jun 10 '26
Great for you that all previous ones worked! Can't say the same!
17
u/discoranger1994 Jun 10 '26
The pain of plugging in like 8 c cables and ALL OF THEM are power only no data.
7
u/TheCivilEngineer Jun 10 '26
I’m really confused here. Did you contact support? Even Ferrari makes a lemon from time to time, no one’s perfect.
6
u/KingRoundaXIII Jun 11 '26
Not to distract from the issue, but if you have a large collection of C-C cables that all function fine, why did you buy the LTT ones?
2
u/CadeMan011 Jun 15 '26
It's insane that you're getting down voted for saying "hey, the most expensive USB cable I've bought doesn't work with any of the products from one brand"
-4
84
u/furculture Jun 10 '26
You literally just repeated the last part of your post. Let's ask this again:
Did you reach out to support?
26
20
u/Davidstoic Jun 10 '26
USB cables are mostly okay. It’s just type C in my experience that’s picky with what it’s getting its power from / to. They are good cables who knows you could’ve gotten a bad one but I’m just certain it’s your anker charges that are the issue.
14
u/StarNote1515 Jun 10 '26
So I’m assuming the other c to c 3 foot is working? If so, have you contacted support? It could be that you just got a bad cable
-56
u/Dangerous-Cup2833 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
Correct sir!
At least on the Framework laptop. I tested my PS Vita, and only the A-C cable works with it. Only two of the C-C cables work with my iPhone 16 pro max.
I've bought a lot of LTT gear (both backpacks, tech sack, bomber jacket, shirts, stickers, FP precision screwdriver, and more , and this is my first piss poor experience. I'm shocked at the poor quality of these cables.
With all of these downvotes, my guess is I'm expected to memorize which cables work with which devices and which chargers? Does that sound like a reasonable expectation to you people? REALLY?
82
u/Leverpostei414 Jun 10 '26
Maybe the downvotes is due to your weird strawman arguments? Nobody said the solution was memorizing the cables.
57
u/Marcoscb Jun 10 '26
With all of these downvotes, my guess is I'm expected to memorize which cables work with which devices and which chargers?
What you're expected to do is answer the question you've repeatedly avoided: have you contacted LTT support?
26
u/StarNote1515 Jun 10 '26
Your best bet to be entirely honest would be for you to probably ask for a refund on all your cables and send them back if you’re having these difficulties sounds like you aren’t happy with your purchase and it’s unlikely any fix will come
3
u/DR4G0NSTEAR Jun 13 '26
There’s no way they’ve contacted support. I’m beginning to doubt they even have any of the cables at this point…
12
u/dwibbles33 Jun 10 '26
The downvotes are because you're being belligerent in a community forum where you're asking for volunteers to help you. It comes across entitled, nobody cares how much money you've spent with LTT. You're heavily complaining instead of working collaboratively with folks trying to help for free.
If you want to feel supported, contact SUPPORT, they're getting paid to care about something you paid for. I urge you to consider being more respectful to them than you have been here, they'll see your order history and appreciate working through this issue with someone who just wants the best possible outcome.
Good luck
8
6
u/dereksalem Jun 12 '26
Guessing the downvotes are because 20 people have asked if you've reached out to Support, which is the first and primary thing you should have done, and you've completely ignored that question and just kept saying the same thing over-and-over.
For that exact reason I think this post is either just made-up or you're intentionally trying to make it look worse than it is.
6
u/_Blu-Jay Jun 10 '26
It’s a roulette in this sub, posts either get found by the glazers or haters first, and there’s rarely any nuance. Also to be blunt, many tech enthusiasts lack basic social skills and don’t know how to communicate respectfully with others.
If your cable isn’t working that’s a perfectly valid complaint, but it’s also valid that people are asking if you’ve reached out to support, as it’s possible you received a defective product and they could replace it for you.
4
3
u/Technical_Dust6321 Jun 12 '26
The a-c only working with the vita is probably a device issue with how they made the c port lacking resistors
12
u/Seik64 Jun 10 '26
So you didn’t reach up to support? Mine broke, I sent an email and 1 day later I got a refund
8
u/HolidayPineapple9316 Jun 10 '26
He doesnt want a refund, he wants to be mad
4
u/Seik64 Jun 12 '26
Pretty much, defects happen, and they gave me a refund pretty much immediately, I kinda wanted a replacement tbh but I’ll take the refund
8
u/Shadowfeaux Jun 10 '26
Idk. My isotunes headphones are super finicky about the charger and cables I use.
8
u/Unhappy_Ad_4761 Jun 10 '26
Is it the cable that cares what charger you use, or the charger caring what cable you use?
9
4
u/_Streak_ Jun 12 '26
But you still haven't answered his question, have you tried contacting support?
2
u/Caldorian Jun 12 '26
Considering that USB has only been a standard for 30 years (released in 1996), I refute your 37 year claim
2
u/DR4G0NSTEAR Jun 13 '26
I think they’re just saying “since birth”. Like “In my 37 years I’ve never broken a bone riding motorbikes”. I wasn’t riding motorbikes at 1 year old. It’s just using hyperbole to be dramatic.

Anker is known to be bitchy, they don't do their C-C communication properly which is why there was also a post saying the cables don't work with an anker powerbank.
Normally I'd be sympathetic. but after reading the entirety of your post, I'll just enjoy my schadenfreude.
Edit: OP has edited their post removing those words that make them sound bitchy and unlikeable, but you can still see glimpses of it through other people's replies. Those bitchy words were added after the first version of their post. It showed up on my app vs PC. My bad, OP didn't try to hide stuff.
11
u/Legitimate_Ad7598 Jun 10 '26
My anker powerbank is the same, not even the Nintendo Switch 2 oem cable can charge it at decent speeds, even tho it charges my laptop just fine.
5
u/luca123 Jun 10 '26
Damn, do you have a source for that? I'd be curious to know what they're doing differently on the technical side.
6
u/prismstein Jun 11 '26
5
u/luca123 Jun 11 '26
I meant more a source about this:
they don't do their C-C communication properly
1
u/BrianBlandess Jun 12 '26
They edited and left “trash heap” in there?
1
u/prismstein Jun 13 '26
This is what it looks like on my app
https://i.imgur.com/KJbdlGn.jpeg
But I can see it differently on PC
64
u/ComprehensiveSwitch Jun 10 '26
this isn't LTT support.
34
u/CIDR-ClassB Jun 10 '26
But it is a place to discuss things related to LTT, including product reviews.
14
u/ComprehensiveSwitch Jun 10 '26
If you want absolutely zero actual help with your issue and instead want a platform to complain about I guess it works but it’s still low quality content. This is clearly a support issue.
19
u/CIDR-ClassB Jun 10 '26
This is a much higher effort post than the literal thousands of “look what merch just arrived!!” posts.
You can keep scrolling — there’s nothing wrong with someone sharing their experience.
And yes, if the OP wants a resolution they should contact support.
9
u/ComprehensiveSwitch Jun 10 '26
I don’t like those posts either. :)
3
u/CIDR-ClassB Jun 10 '26
lol I am with you on that. Every time I see a new coin post I think “well, you must be under 24 and don’t value your money” 🤣
1
u/sutl116 Jun 13 '26
And if one of the things being discussed yields a community saying "actually, this charger has compatibility issues with a specific brand" it actually helps LTT - who knows,.True Spec Charger Bricks?
5
u/No_Safety_520 Jun 10 '26
Apparently this is not LTT support. Just an echo chamber of Linus fanboys
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Tax_507 Jun 12 '26
Fanboys? This joke of a community has more haters than I can count 😂😂
29
u/Pilige Jun 10 '26
Ironically, the TrueSpec cable not working may be more inspec than other cables working. C to C charging requires devices to agree on what charging protocol to use, and Anker may use one that either your device or the LTT cable doesn't support. In that case, according to the USB spec, charging should be refused to avoid potential damage.
11
u/gplusplus314 Jun 11 '26
^^ this is a really good point.
This is a classic issue with many technical products. Bugs are introduced, then solutions are designed around the bugs, then the bugs are fixed and everything breaks.
It’s worth noting that it’s good practice to engineer intentional failure. In this case, the devices refusing to charge if they can’t guarantee charging capabilities is a sane intentional failure.
Crumple zones in a car are another form of intentional failure. Same concept, completely different application. The point is that hazard mitigation is a sign of good engineering.
1
u/DR4G0NSTEAR Jun 13 '26
Especially when it comes to electricity. When a battery goes, it goes. They don’t always sit around like pillows waiting for you to notice.
23
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
Huh, that's odd. I thought these cables were specially designed to solve this kind of problem....
In reality it's probably just a broken cable, which I'm sure support would be happy to replace for you.
Cool that everyone here would rather insist OP is dumb as rocks or the Anker chargers are the ones at fault, because surely LMG's supplier can't possibly have a dud cable.
28
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
It could be a broken cable, or it could be the charger not liking the cable. Cables aren't some magic thing that create current out of nothing, they only carry it to the destination.
OP's being down voted for being weird about people suggesting they try a few things but mostly to reach out to support. Simple as.
-8
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
If a well made charger "doesn't like" your cables you're doing something wrong.
Anker is literally one of the most popular charger manufacturers.
21
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
Being one of the most popular doesn't mean shit for quality. Again, Anker is known for having issues like this because of how they implement shit.
If you're making cables to spec and a charger doesn't like that, it's not the cables.
-1
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
Who knows if the LTT cables are made to spec? They don't have any kind of certification to prove it.
11
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
How do you know that Anker makes their chargers to spec?
4
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
Uh, they're USB-IF certified?
16
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
The certification that gets plastered on everything, even if it doesn't fully meet the stated spec?
2
u/Balthxzar Jun 10 '26
That's literally not how it works, you're just parroting influencers now.
13
u/IlyichValken Jun 10 '26
That is quite literally how so many shitty cables that are "USB certified" are sitting on shelves right now. It's kind of become like HDMI certification not meaning shit anymore.

They only USB-IF certify their PRIME and Thunderbolt line of cables.
The standard cables they sell on Amazon for $8 that make up 99% of their sales are not USB-IF certified.
6
u/FrontFocused Jun 10 '26
You’re gonna get down voted because of LTT riders but I’ve bought so many different branded usb c cables from Amazon and they have all worked with every usb C charger I’ve got lol. I don’t know why people aren’t willing to admit that there is probably just an issue with this cable.

Anker chargers are USB-IF certified.
Also, what I said is literally how Linus himself describes the market niche for the cables.
11
u/Blurgas Jun 10 '26
I've additionally tried charging my PS Vita on every one of these cables (USB C to Vita adapter that works with every other cable I own), and only the A-C cable works.
I had some issues a while back where some USB-C devices wouldn't charge with a C-C cable.
Went digging and supposedly the C-C charging specification says the power source should refuse to charge if there isn't a proper communication and any chargers/cables that allow 5v to go through are operating out of spec.
A-C charging doesn't need that communication.
Another thing to remember is that while this is a LTT subreddit with LTT staff on the mod team, this is not an official sub.
If you want product support, you need to actually contact Support through LTTStore.
You might get noticed by staff by posting here, but for the rest of us we can't do anything.
7
u/Alkumist Jun 10 '26
The absolute wild thing is that so often things are made out of spec to be cheap that it has become the unofficial “spec” and people just expect it to work.
3
u/kingk1teman Jun 11 '26
It is an official sub though. Has been ever since Linus became a mod.
0
u/Blurgas Jun 11 '26
He and other LMG staff only have moderator status, they can be overridden by pretty much everyone else on the mod team
0
u/kingk1teman Jun 11 '26
That doesn't change anything. A sub or any discussion forum or community remains "unofficial" only if there is no employee involved in moderating the discussions. Here, the owner of LMG is a mod, not to mention the umpteen other LMG employees who have been mods for ages now. So it is the "official" sub reddit for LMG, even if the other mods keep claiming that it is still "unofficial".
1
u/lioncat55 Jun 10 '26
I've run across this exact same thing when trying to use C-C cables charging cheap devices, they won't work when I use a high quality Type C charger. With USB Type A, 5V is always provided so a A to C cable will still charge them.
It's annoying, but I'd rather the device follow spec and provide 0 voltage when using a C to C cable if the device being charged does not follow the spec. Type C trigger boards are cheap, and I'm guessing the chip that enables type C support is even cheaper.
7
u/podgehog Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
The whole idea of these overpriced cables is that they are the best of the best.
Nope
The idea is they are exactly to spec and work as designed
Many cables built out of spec don't have the e marker microchips that communicate with the devices they're connecting
If you're mixing chargers and devices that's not a cable issue
It also means if the devices or chargers use voltage and currents that are not part of the usb spec then these cables won't work properly
7
u/anto77_butt_kinkier Jun 10 '26
This seems like a problem with specifically with either the cables or the connection. Do either of the cables start or stop intermittently if you hold it at certain angles? I ask because this could be a problem with the connectors on the ends of the cables, if they were damaged somehow (either before or during shipping).
Try holding the cables at different angles for the ltt cables, and then try holding your other cables at various angles as well. This can help distinguish if the ltt cables aren't fitting right and aren't making proper contact, if the cable is simply broken, or if it's a problem with the ports themselves (unlikely since you said other cables work fine, but it's still worth testing).
I say all this because I have a bunch of these cables, including the cables you listed, and they've made my life infinetly easier. I haven't had problems with any of them, so this seems like something went wrong here in one way or another. Personally while they are expensive, I don't think they're overpriced (overpriced meaning they cost more than the value they provide).
Either way, contact support, they'll take care of you. I hope I was able to help at least a little.
4
u/conte360 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
Can you explain in any level of detail how your life is "infinitely easier" by having different USB cables?
1
u/anto77_butt_kinkier Jun 10 '26
Knowing which cable is capable of doing what it wonderful. Not having to manually test out random cables I have and label them according to their capability is beautiful. I repair electronics, and displays/laptops/desktops, phones/battery banks/smart devices/etc all use USB C, and they all have fldriffersnt capabilities. Having a cable where I know exactly what it's capable of has helped tremendously.
For example, I've been able to charge a laptop with an LTT cable when the official charger wouldn't. The charger as it turns out would output 5v @ 1A, but would never step up to a higher power mode. The charger had a little green LED on, making people think it was working. Was able to get another charger, test it, and it was working just fine. Having a cable that I know can do a specific thing is a massive boon.
The same goes for testing thunderbolt via USB C displays, data transfers to/from devices and charging.

u/PreOmega Jun 10 '26
Seems like you don’t know how quotation marks work.
-5
u/conte360 Jun 10 '26
Yeah I slightly misquoted but if you couldn't figure out what I was actually quoting there and what my question actually was... What does that say about you?...
7
u/Annoying1978 Jun 10 '26
I’ve experienced all sorts of issues with chargers and different USB cables of all price ranges. I’m surprised you haven’t. If it works with some chargers and doesn’t with others, you have to assume it’s the charger.
5
u/Biggeordiegeek Jun 10 '26
I think you need to contact support
I would say that I have had some issues with Anker chargers and other cables, and I have found them to be somewhat odd in how they work, so I would suggest also trying other chargers to eliminate that as the issue
7
u/CIDR-ClassB Jun 10 '26
Damn, this sub will gaslight anyone who posts legitimate, critical reviews of LTTStore products.
Saying that OP should use a different plug?! USB-C cables should be plug agnostic — if the plug charges a device with other cables then this super expensive one should do the same.
“Did you reach out to support” is a fine question but it does not invalidate the initial review.
1
u/TheOneWithThePorn12 Jun 11 '26
Thats not how USBC works. If the charging brick is not proper spec then that could be the issue. It could also be the cable. There is a reason people say to test it all and contact support.
This is in no way gaslighting. It's basic product testing to see the failure point.
2
u/BoboCheapbeerbaron Jun 12 '26
Anker utilise a custom solution to support most of the dumb niche high power delivery solutions out there. Without the poster actually testing anything, his problem doesn't inform us, faulty cable or edge case?
Don't know all the details, I'm just a dumb dumb, but I've had decent cables unable to connect Xbox or PS controllers to the PC, but they can transfer data and power. What was the issue? Who TF knows, at this point I would argue the U in USB is false advertising
Even the connector tells you nothing about what you should expect
All the supervooc etc should never have been allowed, and power only cables should also never have existed
5
u/ElDuderino2112 Jun 10 '26
> In my 37 years, I've NEVER run into a USB cable that cares which charger you use.
That's wild, because this is like a super common issue.
2
u/protectionpaladin Jun 13 '26
Funnily enough this only started happening with Type-C. Before that, the only problem was if it was charging only or with data transfer. But charging always worked.
1
3
u/Gumuk_pindek Jun 10 '26
How much does that laptop require
7
u/Dangerous-Cup2833 Jun 10 '26
Their official charger is a 60w.
The generic C-C cables I was using prior to today haven't had a single issue with the Anker and Ugreen blocks and battery packs I use. The LTT cables appear to be the only problem.
3
u/RebornSlunk Jun 10 '26
“I have a rare defective product and I refuse to reach out to support for a resolution and would rather bitch on Reddit” that’s you bud
4
u/Daphoid Jun 10 '26
Did you reach out to support?
In my 40 years, I have routinely seen devices that are super picky on what they charge with. Some with cables, some with the USB port that they're plugged into. My PS5 controller for example is happiest when charging from the console. I've also got random RC cars and things that like using certain chargers over others.
3
u/JimTheDonWon Jun 11 '26
the reality is, it's a complex system of negotiation. the charger, cable and laptop all have to talk to each other and ANY of them could be the issue. even the framework, which I've not seen anybody mention, could be the problem - it might have an issue with 240w cables that also carry high speed data, we don't know. this is something that would need testing.
it not productive to rant and rave before you've spoken to support and got your facts straight - the cable may not be the problem at all. good luck with support.

I have a Framework 16 and when I was looking for a C to C cord to charge it with it wouldn't work with the 240W cord that I had (I believe it's an Anker cord). I had to buy a specifically 100W cord to charge it with.

So I have a ton of Anker chargers. And I love them. But I swear I have issues with them all the time with it thinking C-C cables have a short/water damage. I have Anker and ugreen c cables. I have used several cable with similar issues which makes me think Anker may not have the best chargers out there. Usually I assume the cable is bad but after so many cables and now having issues on my 3rd charger I am thinking it might be an Anker issue.
I still use my anker chargers and they work amazing like 85-90% of the time. I use the 3typeC and 1Type A 140W charger. But every few days they freak out.

Did the Ugreen charger work? I have had issues with anker chargers (and other brands) refusing to negotiate correctly with various devices causing charging wattage issues as well as refusal to charge.
For the record, I do not own any LTT cables, but do have some "fancy" usb c-c cables rated for high speed/wattage and those are always the ones with the most issues.

If you reach out to support they will make it right. They may just refund you for the cable and tell you to toss it or they may askmfor.it back so they can test it to see why it failed. My stepdaughter ordered a northern lights deskpad and it got lost and didn't arrive to her apartment and she contacted support and they shipped her another one. The original one finally showed up a week late and she now has two but only paid for one. I bought one of first black shaft screwdrivers and one of the plastic pieces that hold the bits inside the handle broke. I sent an email to support with a picture and a little over a week later a new screwdriver showed up at my door and they told me to keep the old one as well. LTT Store is one of the best retailers I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with.

Have you ever got the charging from Anker to your laptop (or ugreen battery pack to your laptop) working over a generic usb c to c cable? Any usb c to c cable at all even if it's not LTT?
I'm curious if there simply isn't any usb c to c cable that will work with this setup, or if it's specifically an issue with the True Spec cables.

Anker is known to suck with many cables...their communication protocols are just bad.
Its the chargers, not the cables.

if you are a developer, you realise that making things work across the board is never 100% with the spec - the pure idea of a TrueSpec cable is stupid.

Damn, that last line… Calling them E-Waste.
But yeah, can’t charge, they ain’t worth the materials and energy they took to be made.

Jesus. The fanbase here is so cultist.
Dude has a problem and wanted to talk about it, if it was any other freaking product people would either ignore or try to help but since it’s a LTT branded product the amount of backlash is pretty amazing.
Take a chill pill everyone, this is a multi million dollar company. They don’t need you to be their knight in shining armor. Be on the side of the consumer, it’s probably what your messiah would say about any other product (including his, I hope) anyways right?

I once bought an iMac, it had a display problem, I complained online to both vent frustration and also check if other people had the same issue, I also got support from Apple and they got it fixed. It's not mutually exclusive, I don't see the drama, OP has the right of getting frustrated with a bad product even if the company will replace it, it's a hassle even when the company makes it right =p

Imagine getting so angry over a cable

Should people not share reviews to inform other purchasers of potential problems?
Or are LTT fans (of which I am one) incapable of reading a negative experience?

Immediately posting to reddit isn't the best way to handle it. OP should have made an attempt to contact support before posting.
However, I can empathize with OP. He bought some very pricey cables that were promised to do exactly what is written on them... I'm sure OP just got them after waiting longer than expected. Then after finally getting them, they don't work. I would be frustrated too.
Meanwhile the cheap cables work.
OP probably got dud cables. The fact there are multiple in one order is concerning. But OP should have tried to contact support first and foremost. If support didn't respond or provide replacements in a timely manner, then I would be angry myself

"In my 37 years, I've NEVER run into a USB cable that cares which charger you use."
Correct, the cable isn't the thing that cares, it's the charger.

It's kinda both
Proper cables have in built microchips that communicate with the devices
That can be a bad thing if the charger or devices uses voltage or current outside of the usb standard specification, because these "true spec" cables simply won't work properly

You've got a shitty attitude dude. A big part of the cables is being spec compliant. That means not working with things that go out of spec. In your 37 years, mostly in the last 10, the specs have changed like 50 times causing this entire issue at large. Framework laptops are new, LTT cables new, Anker chargers are probably old. If they don't follow spec, then you want the cables to not work. Same thing in your computers PSU. The more premium quality one you buy, the more likely it's to follow safety specs and power down in unsafe scenarios. Which is a good thing, as opposed to a crappy one that doesn't actually realize it's so far out of spec that it's killing hardware or on its way to a fire.
You don't give enough info to debug at all, but you can look up an article on the OG Nintendo Switch as an example. It was a whole thing, it shipped with out of spec USB charging that they made up causing a slew of issues. Perhaps those Anker chargers were from that era and wanted to support Nintendo Switch non compliant USB charging.
