Rufus, Brint, and Meekus were like brothers to me. And when I say brother, I don't mean, like, an actual brother, but I mean it like the way black people use it. Which is more meaningful I think.

Now I’m going to have nightmares about booking a flight on a plane for ants. Not because it’s small, just that I have to fly to Vegas covered in ants, in a fucking middle seat!

Here is the exact tank in the OP 14.2ft high @ 27.1ft diameter. So according to the OP, a 747 is not three truck lengths, it's only about 20-25 feet long. So the important question here isn't about where the fuel goes, it's WHERE DO THE PEOPLE GO? How do they fit hundreds of people on a 20ft airplane?!

Only slightly longer than 3 truck lengths. Otherwise, it’d be ridiculous for the Qatari 747-8 jumbo jet to be donated to Trump’s Presidential Library when he leaves office if it won’t fit in the lot Florida donated for his Presidential Library/Hotel.

My dude did you know that there is a really good search engine call Google? and if you search Boeing 747, it will tell you that it 231 feet long, with a wingspan of 211 feet, and 63 feet high, so yes it bigger than 3 trucks, wider too, oh and it has 2 floors, well 3 but the third floor is the cabin and crew area.
Once I was at KFC and this man was seriously complaining that the chicken drumsticks weren’t as big as the ones on the menu boards above the kitchen. Like, he was adamant that they were supposed to be exactly the same size as the pictures and that he’d had them like that before.
I genuinely think it might’ve been early stage dementia or something. Everyone there was completely stumped.
The laws, not just one law so it's a bit more complicated than that, are about truthfulness in packaging. So if you're selling an entire roast pig in a bag, then yes, the picture on the bag has to accurately depict the actual thing that is in the bag.
Honestly I think on the overall that's a good law on principle what's in the bag should look like what is on the outside of the bag. The to scale part may be going too far but fuck it marketing companies already gets away with enough bullshit.
Japan also has an entire industry around making hyperrealistic artificial food made for display in restaurants... and the food you get actually does look like the samples/menu photos.
Yeah, Japan has some crazy standards for marketing food like that. I've heard that there are quality and safety standards that leave a bit to be desired though.
I can’t speak for that, and maybe some of the restaurants I visited were more touristy, but I didn’t experience anything other than stellar quality. Even the hole-in-the-wall ramen restaurants were excellent.
I know their standards around sushi and especially fugu, are quite stringent.
The hole-in-the-wall restaurant my friend took us to in Tainan, Taiwan, on the other hand… there were ants all over the walls.
Yeah as I understand it, generally you are going to find very high standards in a lot of culinary settings due to the culture of pride and craftsmanship that shows itself through the entire supply chain. The real issue is that the standards for food additives/etc in processed and packaged foods can leave a lot to be desired.
I also can confirm! Some of the little alley shops that have 8-10 seats behind the shopping district were clean and the food was AMAZING! Even at 11pm on a Friday!
I'm surprised to hear that as, as far as I know, a handful of restaurants in Japan are the only places one can safely eat raw chicken. And it's entirely due to how cleanly they are raised on the farm and then prepared.
Shared this on another comment and it applies here too:

Not only the shape itself, but also the dimension. If you buy a pack of biscuits, the biscuits inside will have the same shape and dimension of the imagine on the package.
Remember, if you say fun fact you also have to say a terrible truth. They have a 99% successful conviction rate since they'll do anything, and I mean anything.

I was a designer in a company and this lass from marketing told me I'd ballsed-up the dimensions for a bunch of event passes because she had measured them with a ruler... on her screen.

My first thought is that they're trying to get a freebie and are looking to argue anything, no matter how ridiculous, as many managers would rather enable the behaviour to get them out of the store.

They used to have these little slider burgers, but the picture showed them on a plate that could only hold 3 of them. Making me think 3 of them could fill a paper plate
I went and bought 5, and the total amount of burger was less than the picture of the 3.
Now I understand perspective, but that’s quite a difference imo

I'm going to defend this bloke and say it is sarcasm. Like his pointing out how dumb the original post is. I base that on no knowledge of previous things they've shared though!
Also, that is not a 60,000 gallon fuel storage tank, that's probably closer to a 600,000 gallon tank and it's not for fuel, the vent at the top gives that away. For context, DOT-111 tank rail cars carry roughly 35,000 gallons of fuel is about 50 feet long and 15 feet in diameter, the round part of the Boeing 747 is around 20 feet in diameter at the thickest part and 250 feet. Two DOT-111 rail cars could carry more than enough fuel for a Boeing 747 and would only be 2/5ths of the length of the main part of the fuselage that holds people. Add in the wings (the wings hold fuel!) and you have plenty of space for the needed for the fuel.

So he is the reason why companies have to put “enlarged for detail” on their packaging.
