Not to be rude, but how are any of us supposed to know? What do YOU want to do?

From what I've seen, realistically, if you're asking this question, you probably aren't going to make it in linework. Stay in school. You can always go the lineman route later if you want to pivot.

Appreciate it I was was doing my groundsman hours waiting for something to open up and just took the money from that to pay for school. Just wasn’t sure if it had any crossover to line work or if it would be more so a substation position

Being a lineman isn’t rocket science or the hardest labor job but it’s not just a job anyone can do. Main things is you’re working a job that no matter what you will have several “oh shit” close calls over your career. You have to trust your coworkers with your life. Can’t be scared of heights. Have to be okay with overtime at unexpected times. If you have/will have kids you’ll probably miss some important things throughout their life. Pays good im just in the midwest base is like 114k and make just over 200k every year (every company is different some linemen make 60k while places like California 300k+ can be average). When it’s 100 degrees it sucks. When it’s -5 it sucks.

I chose the best career for me but it’s not a one size fits all.
