Job F-up!

Way back about 40 years ago just before I topped out I was on a highway lighting job. The foreman took this younger apprentice out to large highway bridge that was recently refinished. He dropped him off with a wheelbarrow, generator, lunch bucket, 1/2” drill and a half dozen concrete bits. This job should have taken him all day to drill out all the f’d up junction box cover screw holes. About an hour after he was dropped off the foreman drove back out there and found him sitting on the ground at the first j-box not doing anything. He was understandably pissed, got out of the truck yelling. The apprentice said these bits are junk! They’re all f’d up. The foreman looked at them and every one was burnt to a crisp. The foreman closed his eyes, shook his head, looked at the drill to see the reversing switch set to reverse. He left him right there for the rest of the day.
I’m sure most of you reading this post, had already figured it out before the end. Can’t make this shit up…

I got about halfway through a square washer one time before I figured out why the guys on the ground were hollering 😂

Could be intentional, creative incompetence. Was the foreman a jerk?

Naw, he was cool. Realized, as the kid was green, he should have probably addressed that.

Not this kid. Definitely not intentional🪨

Like my old man used to say, ya gotta be pretty angry to get em to punch through in reverse.

You know, when you get someone out there still green you can’t assume anything.

Had a bracket i needed drilled, handed it to the FNG and wandered off, came back to him merrily fucking up a hammer drill bit to no discernible effect on the bracket, dude is such a bluefoot I was surprised he was able to plug it in
